I like the look of “single file” during the processional and paired up during the recessional. This is how our processional will go, from the beginning:

– My step-paternal grandparents (just the two of them as a pair, no escort)

– My paternal grandparents

– My maternal grandparents

– FI’s parents (he has no grandparents living)

– My father and stepmother

– My little brother and mom, with my stepdad following behind

**All these people take their seats as they come in

– Preacher (stands up front)

– Groomsman (stands up front leaving spaces for best man and FI)

– Best man (stands up front leaving space for Fiance between him & the preacher)

– Fiance (stands up front by preacher)

– Bridesmaid #1 (stands up front leaving spaces for Bridesmaid #2 and MOH)

– Bridesmaid #2 (stands up front leaving space for MOH)

– Maid/Matron of Honor (stands up front closest to preacher)

– Flower girls and ring bearers (go sit with their parents rather than standing the whole time)

– Me & my brother (FI comes to meet us, my brother gives me to Fiance, my brother is a groomsman so he goes and stands on the end of the row of groomsmen as Fiance and I walk up to the preacher)

Then for the recessional:

– Me & Fiance

– Maid/Matron of Honor & Best Man

– Bridesmaid & Groomsman

– Bridesmaid & Groomsman

– My mom, stepdad and little brother

– My father, stepmother, and little siblings (a ring bearer and flower girl)

– FI’s parents & niece and nephew (a ring bearer and flower girl)

– Grandparents

– Grandparents

– Grandparents (all in reverse order of their entrance)

– The preacher will then invite everyone to the reception

He is walking alone after the pastor and followed by the Best Man (my brother), then the Maid of Honor (my cousin), then the flowergirl (our daughter) and the me! We are doing 1 song from the Pastor entrance to the end of my walk (I´m going to see if I can make it longer, just in case) The song is Dare you to Move, the cover by Vitamin String Quartet

For us it was grandparents, then parents, (my husband escorted them and walked back up the aisle after my mom sat down)

then hubs and pastor together

Then all the groomsmen walked with the girls, then they split when they got to the front of church.  then me and my dad.

I’ve also seen where all the guys including the groom and pastor walk in from the side and wait and the bm’s walk in on their own.

It’s totally a preference thing, but you have a few options!
