mine is kinda funny, before we got engaged when i was waiting, i used to look up all these proposal stories online and showed him the ones i thought were cute. then in my head i thought of the perfect one for me: sunset proposal on the beach on our anniversary. and guess what my Fiance was planning on doing, but couldn’t cos there were people EVERYWHERE. so he proposed after dinner during a moonlit walk on the same beach as our earlier walk πŸ™‚

Mine was very simple. On the couch watching cartoons with Fiance, on a Saturday morning. He had the ring box in his pocket, and he pulled it out and asked. Nothing extravagant, because I specifically said that I wanted it to be in the privacy of our home.

When I met my Fiance, we were set up on a blind date by his aunt (who is a quilting friend of mine) and we went to a car show with his car club.  We hit it off immediately and 1 year later, at the same car show, he had the club involved in keeping my attention else where, and he put a banner on the back of the car that said “Will you marry me?” so when I walked back up I would see it.  When I did, he got down on one knee with the ring and asked me in front of all our friends.  They also had an engagement party planned for after the show, which I had been told it was an ordinary pot luck.  Good thing I said yes!!  LOL

I also had picked out my ring, without knowing because I went shopping with his aunt a few months before and she asked me what rings I liked.  I didn’t think anything about it, because after the first date she was planning our wedding.  When she asked me to look at the rings, I kind of rolled my eyes at her and she said, “just humor an old lady, its just for fun!”

My Fiance and I love any and all things Disney. In the 5 years we’ve been together, we’ve been to Disney World over a dozen times together. For my 24th birthday (Sept. 2011) my present was a trip to Disney in October. I was SO excited. He had already planned the whole trip – dinner reservations and all – AND we’d be there for our 4 year anniversary. On our anniversary we spent the day in the Magic Kingdom. Halfway through our day we went back to the hotel to shower and get changed for a nice dinner at Tony’s – the restaurant from The Lady and the Tramp. We got back to the park and we were early, so I suggested we go on some rides before dinner. Once it was time for dinner he said, we’re actually not eating in Tony’s, we’re eating inside of Cinderella’s Castle – Happy Anniversary! I was ECSTATIC! We walked into the castle and had our picture taken with Cinderella. We were then led up a winding staircase to a table for two looking out into the Magic Kingdom. I had the biggest grin on my face the entire time. Snow White, Ariel, Belle, and Aurora all came around for photos during our meal. The waitress took our dessert order and when she came back, she put down a covered tray in front of me and said she had a “special” dessert for me. When she lifted the tray, inside was a glass slipper sitting on a bed of red rose petals with a gorgeous princess cut diamond ring inside. I was SHOCKED! My hands flew to the mouth thinking “is this really happening?” I look to my left and my Fiance is down on one knee. He said the sweetest things and I was so in shock I couldn’t even speak, but managed to wildly shake my head “yes!” and threw my arms around him for a hug. The tears began flowing and he put the ring on my shaking hand. The waitress then brought out two glasses of sparking apple cider (there’s no alcohol in the Magic Kingdom) and our real dessert – a white chocolate glass slipper filled with chocolate mousse sitting on a bed of cake surrounded by fresh berries with “happily ever after” written on the plate in chocolate. =) His entire family was in Disney with us and when we left the restaurant and walked back down Main Street, there they were with a banner that said “Congratulations!” The entire night was magical and something I will NEVER forget!

Hoe this won’t be too annoying but I only put the first initial of our names- My fiance and A and I’m K

The Proposal: A had a surprise trip for K disguised as a birthday trip to a destination unknown which turned out to be Sydney Australia. A booked a very expensive hotel in the Sydney Harbour on arrival A and K had chocolate covered strawberries waiting in the room for us then A and K went on a stroll down the Harbour and checked out the sights and all of the best Sydney had to offer. K made A aware that in her lifetime she wanted to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Later that evening much to her delight her wish came true as A already had booked it months in advance! What she didn’t know was that on A right hand wrist he had a red ribbon attached to it was the engagement ring. All of the bridge staff knew of A’s upcoming proposal at the summit of the bridge. K was made to go last as she was seen as the‘trustworthy’ person to be at the end- it was just all for show and this way the couple had their alone time for the special proposal. A’s cue from the bridge staff was that his shoe was untied and then he asked K to marry him. She replied, “YES!”

My fiancΓ© proposed to me in Central Park when we were on vacation in NYC last fall. We were sitting on a rock, and we were the only ones around, aside from a saxophone player that we couldn’t see, but we could hear. It was a very romantic moment. I had no idea it was coming, and when he got down on his knee I was really surprised. Fiance was carrying the ring wrapped up in a tissue in his pocket the whole day! He was afraid that I would notice the box in his pocket and ask what it was. He was right, I totally would’ve asked what it was!

My fiance proposed to me at home on our anniversary.  Let me start this by saying he is not romantic at all, so the thought that went into this proposal shocked me so much.  I got home from work on my birthday and he had beat me home and was sitting on the couch.  In front of him was a huge box and two cards.  He made me immediately start opening the cards (I really wanted to change and use the bathroom and stuff after my hour commute home).  I opened the first card to find a gift certificate to the restaurant we first met at (we met through match.com so our first date meeting).  The second card had a gift certificate to get my hair and nails done.  Then I got to the big box.  I was so confused as to what was in it and he instructed me on a particular way to open it.  I had to cut the paper on the top and pull it back.  Inside was a vase with a dozen roses.  It took me a second to figure out what was going on but then I saw on the center flower my ring.  We had picked the ring out together months before.  I was shocked.  He then got on one knee and asked.  After he pulled out two glasses and a bottle of champagne.  I was the best night.  He later told me he wanted to theme the proposal past, present, future.  So the restaurant gift certificate was the past, the hair and nails was the present, and the engagement was our future!
