Hi 🙂

I’m twenty one but suffer from several hormonal problems which make my skin super difficult to deal with. But I THINK I’ve finally found a routine that works for me.

I use a sulfa wash with my clarisonic mia twice daily. At night, after I wash my face I use Kiehl’s blue herbal astringent and cetaphil moisturizer (although I find my skin to be too oily with this so I’m currently in search for a different one, i’m open to suggestions:] )

Once a week I use Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore cleansing masque.. it’s pretty amazing.

For many years, I’ve been using components of Arbonne’s Re9 system. However, it’s expensive, and I’m currently hoping to find something else that I would love just as much, but which costs less, and that I do not have to order online. I wanted to comment on your thread to see what advice the other bees may be providing!

I am 22 but I have acne and eczema so for my face I use cold cream to remove makeup because it doesn’t dry out my skin or clog my pores like the liquid and oil ones and I use the proactiv system. For my body I use the proactiv body wash for my back and for the rest of it I use dove sensitive moisturizing bar beacuse it doesn’t leave a film and it won’t dry out my skin like regular soap.

My age: 21

My skin type: VERY oily. Mild acne around my period. Fair, some freckles on my face/shoulders/arms.

Normal skin care routine: Wash face daily with a face scrub and in the shower.

My new wedding skin care routine: In the morning, wash face with SkinCeuticals, use Dickinson’s witch hazel toner, use a Boscia vitamin C serum (because I have freckles that I’m trying to make less noticeable), use a SkinCeuticals GEL moisturizer that immediately absorbs into my face- otherwise I’m too oily, and follow up with Clinique SPF 25 tinted foundation primer, which can be worn by itself or under makeup. Repeat in the evening before bed, without the Clinique primer.

I have to admit, my more involved wedding skin care routine has done WONDERS for my oily skin. I certainly never feel dry, but I haven’t felt like an oil slick either, even around that time of the month, and my skin has been *amazing.* Not one pimple in over a month now.

I use Arbonne’s FC5 line.

I use the face wash, followed by RC9 toner, and then I use the FC5 night creme both morning and night (I have combination/dry skin).

I really love the arbonne products. They are expensive, but I didn’t need to switch products when I was pregnant and my skin suddenly turned SUPER oily.

I have yet to find a moisturizer with sunscreen that won’t make me break out though!

When I need to exfoliate, I use a simple mix of honeyand sugar to buff away my dry skin.

@urchin:  I recently tried the FC5 line to try to save some money, since it’s less expensive than the Re9 system.  However, I wish the cleanser were a foaming-gel wash like the Re9 face wash, instead of a cream cleanser, since it doesn’t take off my eye make-up. I may end up reordering it, however, if I don’t find something else that I like. I agree with you. Arbonne’s products are really nice.

@Brielle:  I do kind of wish the cleanser was a bit more…cleansing. It’s nice because it wont dry my skin, but I need to use makeup cloths first to remove my makeup!

My dermatoligist actually recommended I use a Dove bar first. Not sure if I will go that route. I just see it drying my skin out SO bad!

@urchin:  I’ve been doing the same thing — using make-up-remover cloths, lol! Hmm. Maybe I’ll just order the Re9 gel wash, with the FC5 daily moisturizer, lol! 🙂

Due to a suggestion I found on the Bee.. about 2 months ago I switched to splashing my face with water (or showering depending on if its am or pm) and then using a cotton ball to apply Dickenson’s Witch Hazel. Then I apply either my “garnier moisture rescue lightweight uv lotion spf 15” (if it’s the morning) or my extra hydrating moisturizer “garnier daily regenerating cream” (at night). Once a week I do some sort of exfoliating scrub. And honestly I’ve been breakout free for over a month now! I’m kind of in shock since I almost always have a breakout on my chin or around my mouth on the side.

@urchin:  I don’t think dove will dry you out since it is a super moisturizing soap. But I don’t have dry skin. All I know is that if I don’t use it in the winter my skin is dry, when I do use it… my skin isn’t dry. I do love arbonne though! Great stuff!!!!!

I’ve been using the Murad acne line for a while now and it’s been working really well!

Age: 26.5

Products: face washes and moisturizer by a local esthetician. I could use a new eye cream and a new SPF moisturizer, since the one I have makes me feel greasy in the summer.

Skin type: dry, acne prone, sensitive/reactive

AM and PM: Wash face with 1.5% benzoyl peroxide facial milk (massage in to wet skin, wipe off in a circular motion with a wet washcloth. Bare Minerals skin rev-er upper, moisturizer, eye cream. AM, I also put on SPF moisturizer.

Twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday nights) I swap out my face wash for a 1.5% benzoyl peroxide exfoliant wash with microspheres.

I also use ELF zit zapper and mineral blemish kit for spot treatment. I drink a lot of water and try to eat lots of fruit, too.
