I am sitting here sewing little blue flowers into my bridal underwear for my something blue and realized I haven’t even given a thought to something new or borrowed. Though I guess my jewelry and veil is “new”…..
what was yours?

Oh and is this for your family and BM’s to help you out with or are you supposed to pick?

I’ll be wearing my mum’s garter from when she and my dad got married. It was her something blue, so it counts both as my something old, borrowed, and blue!

My old were two pennies… they had the years my Darling Husband and I were born on them. I taped them to the inside of my shoes….and my shoes were blue. My borrowed was a ring.

Something new: my dress
Something blue: a little temp tattoo i’ll put on my leg (a blue butterfly- it’s my spirit animal!!) =)
Something old and borrowed will most likely be from my grandmother but she’s still looking for something =/

New: my dress, veil, etc…
Borrowed: A pin from a friend, pinned on the underside of my dress – she realized I didn’t have anything borrowed, and wanted me to have something borrowed! Very sweet girl.
Old: My late grandmother’s bracelet, gifted to me by my mother at my shower.
Blue: my shoes!

I hate to say this but my family is REALLY not sentimental. I don’t think my mom has anything old that I could borrow?
I love the idea of jewelry like others have said. That means something to the family member.

My mum is probably the least sentimental person I’ve ever met. She surprised me by still having the garter and by offering it to me.
Ask your mom. You never know!

Something old – my engagement ring, it was my great grandmothers – and an old vintage locket broach that will be pinned to my bouquet with a picture of my gramma in it (she passed the week I got engaged)
Something new – my shooooooes!!
Something borrowed – not sure yet!
Something blue – my aunt and uncle gave me a beautiful aquamarine necklace as an engagement gift

Old – The wedding ring NotFroofy gave me, inherited from her grandmother back in Wales.
New – My shoes.
Borrowed – The kiddush cup used for the blessing over wine, borrowed from a newly married friend.
Blue – My garter.
And I had a silver sixpence in my shoe.

My something old is my mothers veil that will be wrapped around the handle of my bouquet, something new is my dress, something borrowed is my aunts pearls and my something blue is either the ring my Fiance got me for our 2nd valentines day OR the ring my mom got me for my sweet 16 (My birthstone is aquamarine)

Old – No clue!! The old item is supposed to symbolizes continuity with the bride’s family and the past, and my family has really bad continuity. So still working on that!
New – my dress!!
Borrowed – my younger (non-married) sister told me I would be wearing her Claddagh belly button ring lol. But since the borrowed item is typically “supposed” to come from a married friend/family member, I think I’ll have two borrowed items 😀
Blue – NO idea!! Blue doesn’t fit into either color scheme we’re thinking about, so maybe it’ll be my undergarments 😉
Also, this is my fave site for the old/new/borrowed/blue/sixpense in shoe info:

I have 2 chances to do this! I got legally married last month when my Marine was home on leave so we did a simple civil ceremony, just us.
New: Fun little lace dress from Kensie
Old: I was wearing pearls that have been passed down 4 generations to the oldest girl.
Borrowed: The same clutch my mom carried on her wedding day.
Blue: I sewed a little bit of blue ribbon onto my fascinator that I wore in place of a veil. I also wore my birthstone ring, it’s aquamarine and I’ve had it since I was 8.
I don’t know what I’ll do for round 2 in the religious ceremony! I want to try to keep at least one item the same because it would be great to link the 2 ceremonies
