New: the dress.

Blue: The bridal shop where I ordered my dress gives each bride a complimentary blue heart-shaped Swarovski crystal on a white ribbon to sew inside the dress over your heart. The idea is to pass this on to your son or daughter, to replace the old tradition of girls wearing their mothers’ wedding gowns. I thought that was really sweet!

Old: I have my great-grandmother’s old lace wedding dress in my closet as well as a thread of her crochet work that she did as a girl. I might cut a bit of lace from the dress and use that with the crochet work to wrap around the base of my bouquet. With my grandmother’s permission of course, since it’s her mother’s dress and crocheting.

Borrowed: No idea! Don’t know if this is something I’m going to stress over, so it might end up being nothing. Oh well.

@ Starbright: Thanks so much!  You can imagine my incredibly pleasant surprise when I opened up my birthday gift just months before my wedding!
