mrskirk:  My total budget (my parents are paying) is $10k, that will cover everything including the honeymoon. I think I’ll actually come in at closer to $8k total. We live in nyc but are getting married in nj. We’re having a small wedding (20 people) in a family backyard, morning ceremony, lunch restaurant reception, dad officiating, friends playing music, low cost dress, steal on photographer because getting married on a Thursday, etc.

For our honeymoon we’re renting a house upstate on a lake. Fiance and I will spend our first night there alone then all of our friends are coming up for a long weekend to celebrate and party (since our wedding is family only). Then Fiance and I will continue north to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights.

I’d guess in my area most people spend above the national average since everything is so expensive. The national average is around $27k so I’d estimate that about $40k is probably average here.

My wedding is this July in SF and it will be about 45k. We’re going to Istanbul and Greece for our honeymoon. Where are you getting married and what’s your budget? Thanks

mrskirk:  Nice! I read an article about a couple who were both photographers swapped their services for a free 50k wedding. They did all they services within a year and didn’t have to pay anything. (Except for some taxes). That’s awesome for you!

We’re in SC and our estimated budget is around $10,000, although I’d really like it to be lower as we’re paying for it ourselves. It doesn’t include honeymoon because we’d rather wait a year and take a really nice trip, but we can’t afford both right now.

Most likely won’t be going on a honeymoon until the year after.

$20,000 for a country club wedding in Las Vegas, so far 80 expected. He has the champange taste and I’m trying to DIY within reason, hopefully we can stay at budget. I am not sure about honeymoon yet, $5-6k? Probably should start looking at that.

mrskirk:  I’m in the UK. Ours came to £35k ($55k) including the wedding rings and honeymoon. Without the rings it was about $51.5k. We had a fairly small wedding with 60 people.

Our wedding will be about 40K & our honeymoon is 10K + spending money.

We are having 100 guests  & we are honeymooning in the Maldives for 10 days.

    We are in Brisbane, Australia

My sisters wedding was 16k not including her honeymoon & she had 130 guests.. I don’t know how she did it!

My parents are giving us 20k which is covering pretty much all the wedding except for stuff we feel we should pay for (rings, bridal party gifts, parents gifts, etc…)  Honeymoon is Sandals which is about 7k including airfare so I would say close to 30k all in.  I’m in Tennessee and will be having about 225-250.  The biggest chunk of my money (outside of the honeymoon) is going to venue/catering which will be about 7k which is actually pretty good for that amount of people.

Including rings and honeymoon we will be looking at the $25-30k for 175 people in Manitoba.

Our venue’ all inclusive package covers food, 5 hours unlimited open bar, most of the decor (linens and uplights, not centerpieces) and the dj for the dance, as well as some other stuff I can’t remember of the top of my head. For 175 adults we were quoted $18k after tax and gratuity.

Church, photographer, gifts for the bridal party, cake, and flowers will add another $7k I estimate.

mrskirk:  Including the honeymoon it will be about $12k I guess. I would love to keep it under about $5k including honeymoon, but, lol….. I am not really sure what we are doing for the honeymoon.

Anyway, if I come out under $10k for the wedding I think I will be doing well. I am definitely DIY and a thrifty shopper, so we will see by Aug when I add it all up. As far as the honeymoon, it all depends on what we actually wind up doing. Obviously, if we wind up in HI then it will not be $2k, however something closer to home would make that easier to obtain.

…oh and we live in SC.
