It was a day during the time of year we wanted, on the day of the week we wanted. Nothing special really.

realized later it happened to be the same as the address house number of the first apartment we lived in together, where we got engaged, but that was realized later lol

I originally wanted a fall wedding. But we decided to do a simple outdoor wedding and didnt want to chance the weather. Ended up choosing July 4th … so we will always have fireworks for our anniversary and have the day off work ๐Ÿ™‚

Fall in the Bay Area has the best weather and we wanted a holiday weekend that made it easier for our guests to travel. There were also some astrological/pagany/woo woo considerations that helped us land on that particular date.

Well I wanted a winter wedding but that was vetoed (we’re in the Northeast) so we got married in April because it was the closest to Winter I could get Darling Husband and my mother to agree to.

gthgv :  Darling Husband and I wanted a fall wedding. We landed on 10/7/17 which was 7 days after your 7 year dating anniversery and 10 + 7 = 17. The day of our wedding it ended up raining so we had to have our outdoor ceremony moved inside. The indoor location happened to be called the “seven seas” so I am pretty obsessed with our date!

gthgv :  We want to have a summer wedding that is far away from both our birthdays.  Most people I know did not really go for dating/proposal/first date/first met anniversaries or any other sentimental date in mind. They said they picked their wedding dates for the simple reason of venue availability.

His birthday is July 11, and my birthday is July 31, so we chose the date right in the middle of them, July 21, for our wedding. ๐Ÿ’ž We were very lucky that it fell on a Sunday last year. It worked out perfectly.

Absollutely none haha.

We REALLY wanted a specific venue, and they had one June date and one September date. June can be rainy, so we went with September.

I got married 1/1/18. New Year’s is special for us, but we also liked the idea of a fresh start, new year, etc. Everyone was off work too, we had a tiny wedding and it worked for everyone.

We originally wanted to do the 10 year anniversary of the day we met–but it turns out that in 2021 that day is on a Wednesday. So we’re just going with June 18th because of the weather!

No significance whatsoever. We knew we wanted to get married on a Saturday, before the school year started (we both work in higher ed). June and July were too busy/hot. Between my birthday and family members who had obligations, one day worked, and we went with it.

The 5th of may… picked because it was a bank holiday weekend.  Seemed as good a reason as any!
