What is your wedding anniversary/why did you pick it?

Ours is 9/13/19. Not significant to us because we were in a bit of a rush and that was the September date that both the venue and caterer had available. Turns out it was probably open because it was Friday the 13th! I guess it’s a bit superstitious if you believe in that sort of thing.

It was also a full moon and the harvest moon, the last Friday the 13th full moon for another 30 years. We didn’t know until a wedding guest told us at the reception! Haha 😁 maybe it’ll bring us luck. Who knows.

Monday 4/20/20.  It’s the five year anniversary of our first date, which was also a Monday. We’re doing a courthouse wedding

Because that’s when the venue we wanted had a date available? Wedding anniversaries become meaningful all on their own.

Got married in 29.06.2019

Not very specific, we wanted to get married in April initially, but didn’t work out so we moved it to summer. There was Ramadan, we wanted it to finish too. I’m a teacher also an MA student, so term had to be finished. 😅 We didn’t want one more day after that but my birthday is in June, 17. I absolutely did not want to get married very close to that. July means plane tickets become double the price so literally the last Saturday we could pick. We did.

We got officially engaged in front of family in 28.04.2018, so it’s kind of a nice number corralation coincidence imo.

We are getting married on 10/31/20. We both always wanted an October wedding and a few years before we were engaged I mentioned it would be cool to get married on Halloween. FH was surprisingly into it and when we got engaged last March we were like, are we doing this for real? I had been telling my friends and family before that that I wanted that date, so it sort of stuck! We just recently learned that there’s a full (blue) moon that night which is really cool to me as I am superstitious and a into the signs etc.

Just a random Saturday, registry office, half a dozen guests. We’d only known each other about  3 months, some of that LD lol. Very silly but it worked for us.
l never heard of a ”dating anniversary’ before WB.

We got married 2/12/05, and not because of Valentines Day, we had been together for years before proposing so opted for a short engagement. We picked a date 6 months from the proposal and in winter. I hate hot weather and new I wanted a cold wedding and honeymoon so I could be comfy. I would have been miserable having a summer or spring wedding in the heat and can’t stand to sweat lol. Anyways this was an interesting thread!

I quite liked the time of the year that my parents got married (April 22nd 1989) and it would be a good time of year for our Hawaii honeymoon. I also asked my US aunts (we’re in Australia) what date out of a few Saturdays around that time would be better for them to make it (they had both already said they would travel).

We married April 20th 2019 and it poured rain almost all day but it was wonderful. We left for our honeymoon on my parents 30th wedding anniversary but I made sure to see them and give them their gift!
