Our budget is $35,000 and the most expensive part is the venue, then DJ….
Our orginal budget was $7000. We’ll top out at about $9000. We’ll be having 70 people.
We’ve spent the most money on food and alcohol:
Ceremony (Officiant, Flowers, License, Photographer, Chapel): $1220
Food and Drink (W&B Open Bar, Tax and Tip, Restaurant): $3600
Cake: Free (Brother is a pastry chef)
Travel for Fiance and I to Get to Wedding: $2000
Bride and Groom Attire: $1750
Save-The-Date Cards, Invitations, Thank Yous, Stamps: $450
We will be spending about $22,000 total.. but that INCLUDES the honeymoon.
Roughly $6000 for the honeymoon
$1400 for photographer
$300ish for cake
$800 for photo booth related items.
Not sure how much the candy buffet is, but I allowed $900 in the budget.
$500ish to rent the ceremony/reception venue.
Roughly $1500 for reception dinner.
Roughly $400 for “tasting” hour.
Roughly $1300 for 4 hour open bar.
Roughly $600 for party bus.
Roughly $300 for limo.
Roughly $1000 for entire bride attire, $500 or so for the grooms.
Around $700 for rehearsal dinner.
Everything else are smaller items that add up to ALOT more. We’re purchasing everything out right so we can resell after [renting is more expensive than buying!]
im trying to keep my budget at $6000, bur will go up yo $10,000. i plan yo spend the most on my venue. i want a outdoor ceremony with indoor reception, fully catered. i have found places to fo really cheap beautifulcenterpieces and bouquetd. the venues i,ve looked st were only about $3000_$4000 so hopefully imnot too out of my budget rsnge lol
Currently looking like a bit over $15,000 total budget (not including rings or honeymoon)
Individual expenses that are $1,000+ (approximated):
Flowers are $1,900
Venue is $1,700
DJ is $1,600
Food is $1,500
Alcohol is $1,000
ETA: Wedding is in the Bay Area (Northern California) with around 40 guests.
@kes18: OMG I love your pie chart… I might have to make one!!
The plan is to spend no more than $10k but that will not be including some stuff, like FI’s tartan and assorted Scottish gear, the honeymoon (which I hope will be about $5k), or our plane tickets to get to my hometown which is where we are getting married at. Right now it’s looking like the venue will be the most expensive item since it will be about $3k.
It looks like it will come in at about $3700. Of that, the rings are the biggest expense, $1500 for both wedding bands. The ceremony is on the beach, no charge for that; reception afterward is at a friend’s beautiful small restaurant that is normally closed on that day. Maybe $1200 for pupus, dinner, wine and wedding cake for 25-30 people.
@ForeverEver13: Our budget was $25K for EVERYTHING including honeymoon, all attire, rings, etc EVERYTHING – THe way we calculated the budget was by giving: $10K from my parents, $5k from grooms parents & $10K from us and we spent the most money on venue because I think that sets the tone for the whole wedding and is what people remember most… I know I do!
We wanted a unique wedding that would be formal & upscale and still have our love for the ocean involved so we got married and had our whole wedding aboard a yacht that sailed the entire time. Guests loved it and many said it was the coolest, most unique wedding they’d ever been to!
That response is priceless to me!
Photography was a close 2nd…
I researched and negotiated my tail off to get everything I could at a discount and sometimes I think about all that money we spent for one day and it makes me wish we eloped on a wedding-honeymoon combo in a small ceremony on a beautiful tropical island but all our guests reactions and pictures like this on the yacht make it all worth it:
My wedding budget is 55k and the wedding venue, meal and open bar is the most expensive part of the wedding (30k)
our total budget is 15,000 for EVERYTHING (rings, attire, honeymoon, ect). the majority is going to the food (3000), booze (2000), and honeymoon (3000). we are paying for it ourselves, and we are having our wedding at a golf club with 150 guests 🙂
Our budget is about 10-12k. More than half is going towards our venue, that includes: ceremony, reception, food, drink, cocktail hour, waitstaff, set-up/take-down, day of coordinator
we saved money because we’re getting married in december, there was no rental cost for the hall. it saved us almost $2000! our dj also gave us a discount price for having a wedding in the off season, about $200 off, if i remember correctly
i also saved on my wedding dress by buying a sample. i saved 50%!
