(Closed) What is your wedding night lingerie?!?! Or the honeymoon lingerie?

A long time ago when I had just graduated college, I worked at Victoria’s Secret and got a discount of 30-40% off everything.  So it kills me to pay full price and I still have tons of lingerie from when I used to work there, but I wanted to get something special and bridal looking.

I bought this little number: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=GJ-235301&cgname=OSSLPWEDZZZ&rfnbr=6962′ defer=’defer

For the rest of the honeymoon, I will probably just bring stuff I already own.

@futuremrs.harless: I also love TJ Maxx for stocking up on cute cheap sets!

I customized my own panties with my new last name in rhinestones and a pair that says “i do”, but ended up also buying the set at Victoria’s Secret so I could get free shipping on my order.

I bought a ton of stuff from vicky’s.  For the wedding night I wore a lacy ivory thing.  I don’t know what the proper term is for it.  It was like a tight spaghetti strap shirt but it was longer in length.

I recieved a sexy red and black set from some friends at my bachelorette party.  I brought that with on the honeymoon.  I also had a cute pink babydoll set from VS that I brought with.  And another floral flowy top from Kohls that I brought too.

@iggies- I am a 38D and I still bought from Vicky’s.  I’m pretty sure they go up to D cup in some of the styles.  I know for a fact the red and black set my friends bought me was a D cup.

Check out Frederick’s of Hollywood too.  Their website might have larger sizes.

I’m a 34D and I’m still able to squeeze into some of their lingerie stuff.  Most sets seem to go to a 36C at least with them.  A rule of thumb with bras is that you can go down a cup size if you go up a band size (hence my 34D = 36C).  It doesn’t always work but you can try it.  If you get something less fitted like a slip or babydoll top instead of a corset or bra top, you will have more flexibility in sizing.

thanks for the help! unfortunately, i’m a 34Dear Daughter and i’ve tried on some vicky’s lingerie sets (like the one @bananafishfever posted) and they are so small on me, even going up a band size. ๐Ÿ™ i actually buy my everyday wear bra’s from vs and i love them!

i’ve seen some places online that have lingerie in larger sizes, but i can never remember the names of the places! lol.

I use the figleaves website, which has loads of different brands and you can just input your size. I’m in the uk but they might have a us version?

@bananafishfever – Love that VS set!  Did you order the customized panties or did you actually make them yourself?  It is a super cute idea!

@iggies- I work for VS, so I feel like a traitor (lol), but Frederick’s carries the larger sizes in their lingerie.

I actually got lucky. Like I said, I work for VS. A girl returned a black silk peignoir and robe set that she had gotten as a gift for her wedding that she never wore. It’s full-length with a low back and a very vintage, “Old Hollywood” type robe. It looks like something out of an old movie. Anyway, by the time she returned it it was on clearance and I managed to pick it up the first day that the clearance stuff went on sale for an extra 50% off. I ended up paying $60 ($30 per piece) for a set that was originally $300 ($150 per piece).

Starbit: have you noticed that in the past few years, figleaves has changed dramatically?  not only do they now carry ‘regular’ clothes, they carry  lot less ‘specialty’ lingerie brands and a lot more of their house brand.  i used to get expensive, beautiful lingerie for cheap there because they had such great sales (yes, they do have a US site), but i don’t even visit anymore because it’s changed so much ๐Ÿ™

i am going to be on the quest for the perfect lingerie for my wedding day for a long time because i’m 100% committed to wearing something really sexy under my dress, haha. this may be weird but i’m really cognizant of the underpinnings i’ve got on all day and wearing a sexy bra and underwear can change my mood, so i want to be in the best mood possible that day! ha.

I’m not sure, yet. I want to go shopping soonish, but I’m hoping to lose a few lbs first!

@veganglam, I’ve only been using it for a year, so I haven’t noticed! I did once buy their own brand basic 5 pack of briefs and found them really uncomfy.

@artsprout – Probably not. Knowing us, we’ll probably end up passing out from fatigue before doing anything romantic. We’ll save the romance for the next day, I think.

And I just ordered this from Karen Millen (the full set) :

I also have a white corset/basque and the sheer chemise/robe that I mentioned in my other post, but I couldn’t find pics of those!
