Whales. They’re gigantic and live deep beneath the water. I’m not a fan.

@izziebear:  I don’t like whales either.  In connection to me not liking completely white spaces, I do not like Beluga whales at all.  I think it is so weird that they’re white and the space around them is usually white so they’re more hidden and that freaks me out more.  I just don’t like the idea that whales are so much bigger than me and could swallow me (I know that’s probably irrational).

Fish, and I have no idea why. I liked them and actually had one once, but then I went to a McDonalds with a fish tank in it, and I’ve been creeped out by them ever since. My sister bought one post-McDonalds, and I could never eat bagels around it. I’m not sure what the correlation is, though…

Pool drains. I absolutely HATE swimming over them or diving anywhere near them. I get an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach and swim as fast as I can to put the drain behind me. I don’t mind it when they have a cover over top, but the ones that are just grates with pitch black beyond… *shudder*

haha wow, i didn’t even notice there was another butterfly/moth person on here.

at the zoo by my house there is a “butterfly” house, and my parents made me go in it one time. the butterflies were landing on me and it was proabably one of the worst experiences of my life!

seems like none of us are alone in our fears. 🙂 how reassuring. 🙂

ok this is going to sound odd and overly religious, but here it goes..

When I was little, like 4 years old, I heard about the rapture… you know when the world is about to end and all the good people get taken straight to heaven while everyone else gets left behind. Ever since then, if my Fiance or family member disappears for a second in a store or in the house and I can’t find them for a minute or two, I am absolutely positive the rapture happened and I have been left behind because I suck for some reason or other…

Irrational fear? I has it!

@7mom:I am terrified of clowns! My brother is 10 years older than me, babysat me when I was 7 and decided to show me IT… I have yet to fully recover.

I am terrified of things in suits like mascots! I hate those things, but I’m working on trying to overcome the fear.

I am terrified of parking ramps/ parking garages. I always feel like they are going to collapse. It makes me panic a little bit.

Also, looking out windows at night. My family is Ojibwe, and my grandma always told me that if you look out the window at night you could see the dead. So, needless to say, our blinds/curtains are always shut at night.

@linguo42: Swimming pool drains is mine! I’m 26 and still have problems when I’m near them. When I was a lifeguard we had to dive to get the brick at the bottom of the pool and of course it landed on the drain. I almost quit lifeguard training then and there!

I am pretty much terrified of everything! lol. I am scared of:

bugs

any kind of animal (yes, even most cats and dogs)

most people

any sort of transportation–cars, buses, planes, trains

elevators! . I always take the stairs. when it is too many flights i close my eyes and hold my breath the whole time! I usually talk to God too. especially ones with glass! omg!

clowns

Being kidnapped and tortured

Huge death phobia here! Loosing my husband or my own life. I get this feeling that I am going to die soon a lot. Sometimes i just know something really bad is going to happen but it never does. Sometimes i will be driving home and i get this pit in my stomach that something is wrong with my husband. I will even be so frightened to open the door but i get home and he is there and everything is just fine.

omg…i sound like a freak! LOL

@daniellealys- You sound a lot like me. I am super terrified of being murdered, or finding my loved ones dead. I don’t mean to be the party pooper, but going to therapy has really helped me with this. I started taking anxiety medication, and it is amazing to be able to get out of my car at night and not sprint into my house because I think someone might be lurking with a knife!

@letsgopens and water, OMG I never met anyone with a fear of birds before.  I’m terrified of them and have never been attacked by a bird at least not that i can remember.  It sometimes gets soo embarassing when I’m out in public.  Like the year i decided to spend my birthday at the boardwalk in atlantic city, that’s more like pigeonville than anything else. I ran and screamed from one end of the boardwalk to the other.  Can’t tell you how “happy” my friends were to be with me
