Umm…wrists.  It’s not a real FEAR fear, but wrists bent backward just completely gross me out.

Hahaha! I’ll be honest, I actually don’t do talk therapy anymore. It was too awkward! My normal family practice doctor prescribes my anxiety medication.

I was embarassed too, but after a few too many freakouts, I decided to give it a chance.

Anyone remember Double Dare on Nickelodeon?  I am terrified of being upside down/or backwards in a sleeping bag or under covers.  They always had to go through a bed during the obstacle course.  I guess it’s a claustrophobia thing.  I can’t sleep with covers near my face…or DH’s body.  If I can feel my breath, it’s too close.

Oooh, this is fun! I hate even numbers (one of the reasons we’re getting married on 7.9.11- three ascending odd numbers, lol), but in terms of fears, I’m afraid of:

bunnies- not even kidding- these animals can be mean. I’ve had a few as pets, and this one bunny constantly kept jumping at my face and hitting me, and it creeped me out. I get jumpy (haha) when I’m around them.

praying mantis’- these bugs are smart. Have you ever seen them? They watch you when you move, and you can tell they’re thinking about things. I know that makes me sound crazy, but it’s like they’re thinking about jumping on you. *shudder*

And, my number one fear is being wrongly accused by a judicial system.

Hydraulic cars.

I don’t know why. Maybe it’s just the thought of getting trapped underneath them, but when I see bouncing cars I just start freaking out.

I have this totally irrational fear that I’ll be in the bathroom washing my face or doing something with my eyes closed, then I’ll open them when I’m done only to see someone standing in the open doorway in the mirror.  Ugh… it’s SO irrational, but so freaky.  I have to close the bathroom door whenever I’m in there haha.

By The Way… while I was intently focused on writing this, picturing my phobia in my mind… my Fiance yelled and grabbed me as a joke because of something in his Halo game and I screamed and JUMPED off the couch… ๐Ÿ™‚

Closets. Only at night and only with the door open. I HAVE to have the closet door closed. If it is open when I enter a room I close it as quickly as possible while holding my breath and run away.

I have trained Fiance to close closet doors when he leaves a room ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m beyond creeped out by empty public restrooms that have multiple stalls — I always feel like someone is hiding in there! And this is so completely childish, but I still run up the stairs at night when all the lights are out because I’m scared something is going to grab me from between the spaces in the railing/banister. And I can’t sleep with my legs/feet/hands/arms anywhere near the edge of the bed or outside the blankets for fear that something is hiding under my bed and will grab me. I think I just saw too many horror movies as a kid :-/ thanks mom, lol.

Fiance knows about these and thinks they are the funniest things. Ha ha. Not funny.

@MissFlipFlops: I have a telephone phobia. Like I get extremely anxious when I have to call someone. I only like calling people’s cell phone numbers because there’s a much greater chance I will only talk to the person I want to talk to. I would much rather get in the car and drive 20 minutes to talk to someone at a store than call.

My phobia is fairly common I think, so I’ll share two of my sister’s awesome phobias. She’s afraid of trailer parks (she’s had nightmares about them) and automatic toilets (she’s afraid they’re going to flush while she’s sitting on them). She cracks me up.

@twofortheshow:  I thought I was the only one who hated calling people!!  Anytime I have to call a business, or even a vendor for wedding-relating reasons, I force my fiance to do it.  I’ll even text something really long to avoid having to actually call.  What really sucks is that my job requires making a lot of phone calls.  ๐Ÿ™

I’m scared of loud toilets flushing like the ones in public washrooms.  I usually open the stall first and then flush so I can run out quickly.

I’m claustrophobic, my sister used to trap my face under pillows when we were younger (maybe she was trying to kill me haha) or under blankets and I would get freaked out and think I was going to die.  I used to not be able to ride elevators, I still try to take stairs and escalators when possible, but if I have to ride an elevator it’s not as bad anymore.

Annddd this is kind of weird, and I don’t know if it’s a fear really, but I can’t stand my baby toe rubbing against my 4th toe, it totally creeps me out and sometimes I can’t sleep at night because of it so sometimes I have to wear toe socks to keep them apart lol.

@Lorge28: i’m right there with you two! I used to pretty much have panic attacks if I needed to even call 411. I still hate calling people I don’t know, hate placing orders over the phone, and really just avoid talking on the phone in general if I can help it.

I’m also seriously afraid of open water. Mostly because it REALLY freaks me out to have anything touch me, and I’m completely afraid of sharks/snakes/jellyfish, basically anything in the water that could hurt me. Going in past my waist at the beach is not an option, and only that far if it’s low tide and the water is nice and clear!

Also, this isn’t really a phobia, but I cannot stand the feeling of unsanded/unfinished lumber. Like wooden beams/plywood sheets, etc. Guess I can never be a construction worker ๐Ÿ™‚
