- Wedding: August 2013 - Wynn Las Vegas
yikes! I think yours is much worse than mine at this point…though I can only comprehend the gist of it!
We went to Vegas this weekend, and I don’t think I have quite recovered because I am nearly comatose today. Worth it! #firstworldproblems

I worked 2nd shift last night, (until 11pm) and had to work this morning (at 7am). I can never go right to bed when I get home from a 2nd shift, too awake, so I didn’t get to bed until after 1am, and I had to be up at 6am… But I woke up this morning to find that I had accidently taken home a key from work. A key that doesn’t have any copies, and that was missing for all of 3rd shift and part of 1st shift. Whoops. Thankfully, all is well. 🙂

I could only find one black shoe, and one brown shoe this morning. For abour 6 mins I flipped looking for my shoes. Come to find out, they were only the shoe rack the whole time.
This was pre coffee.

One of my officemates and I always talk about how lab work NEVER goes as it should. I feel like I’m always delayed for one reason or another. This soxhlet thing actually puts me ahead of schedule, because I was forced to distill the ethyl ether in a larger soxhlet, and I made twice the volume. It was a very expensive “blessing” in disguise 😉
Clothing mishaps are the worst! I’ve been down to one pair of jeans for a week, because I found a hole in the other pair I own 🙁 (I’ve never owned too many pairs at once). I’ve been walking around with a small stain on my jeans. They’ll be going in the wash tonight! lol

I think Pittsburgh lucked out. We have a high of 61 today, and 66 tomorrow. Not to make you feel worse… I grew up in Minnesota, so I 100% understand the pain.
AHHHH!!! That’s the worst! We used to have upstairs neighbors that would get home right as we were about to go to bed just about every night. It was awful to fall asleep to.

Definitely worth it 😉 I hope you get lots of sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow!
Haha. At least nothing bad happened!
Proof that coffee runs the world 😉

One of our dogs barked a bit throughout the night so that was definitely annoying. However, the “it’s definitely Monday” moment was when I got pulled over on my way to work. Hasn’t happened in over 10 years!

I’m from Minnesota, so I’ve been seeing all the updates on my Facebook feed since the storm was just on the radar! I feel your pain! Although, Pittsburgh is way too nice right now. It makes me happy I moved away from there. I would like a little snow, but I can wait until these last few 60-degree days are over!
Don’t those long days seem to fall on the worst days?? At least you two will have some time this evening! It will be a great chance to unwind from the long day, too!

winstonchurchill: This made me lol. I hope you make it to class!!
I feel like I rarely get pulled over too, but when it happens, it’s always one of those, “It WOULD happen today” feelings.

Most Mondays I work in two diferent places, but one Monday a month I stay in one location the entire day. Today was that day, and it just felt so tedious. It’s done though.

I teach a chemistry class (college level) and one group of students managed to submit two different versions of a lab report, with different group names on it. How? Not sure. I’ve also started grading these lab reports, for which I gave out a very specific rubric for, and talked about in class, and in lab, and I still have a few groups not using proper citations (for which there is a very simple step by step method given to them) and not following the rubric. They also are apparently never taught to use proper sentence structure or grammar.
I just applied to a new teaching position that’s actually in my field, and I cannot waaaaait to find out if I get it, because I so, so, SO want/need to be teaching something that I enjoy….or at least not a class that is required for 75% of programs. *sigh*
