Hey ladies! I am looking at getting my inviations printed today (weddingpaperdivas is having a 25% off total purchase sale, just so everyone knows!). Anyway, I am trying to make sure that I have set the right ceremony time for a winter wedding in January. I am thinking 4 p.m., for the ceremony (which will last around 30 minutes, right?). Our reception hall is then a 30 minute drive, so guests will be arriving a little after 5 p.m. Everyone is probably sure to be there by 5:15 or so.
Jumping around a bit — I am worried about when I will get my hair done. We cannot get into our reception hall until the day of the wedding (and it does not open up until 9 a.m.!) So, I will have to be up there helping decorate for a little while. Should I get my hair done beforehand?
I haven’t put a lot of thought into the schedule for the rest of the day. What was your timeline for your wedding day?

I had my hair done around 8 AM, and then we were at the church by 11 AM. I had to run around finishing the set up, but by noon, we took pictures, and then the ceremony started at 1. My hair was fine. 🙂
However, your ceremony is later in the day. So I would recommend getting like, 15 people at the site at 9 AM, and give everyone a specific duty (even give it to them the day before, or something). You can probably get completely set up by 12 Noon, and you don’t have to stay the whole time. Maybe your mom can supervise? Just have lots of detailed drawings with exactly what you want.
Then, you can get your hair/makeup done between 11- 1, get dressed and back to the site by 2 PM, and do pictures for an hour. That leaves an hour of “just in case” time.
Definitely trust your friends and family to help out! My aunts and cousins stepped in and set out all the food, finished the centerpieces, and basically made the whole reception awesome. Just leave lots of instructions, and have everything clearly labeled. 🙂
