I really love reading about what songs brides will walk down the aisle to, so I thought it’d be fun to also discuss more about your first dance songs.
We have awhile until we have to make a choice, but as of right now our top choice is I Love You Too Much by Diego Luna. It’s so absolutely beautiful, and we both love is that it’s also sung in spanish by the same artist. Since my Fiance is Mexican and a portion of his family primarily speaks spanish, we’re hoping to find a blend of the song with both english and spanish lyrics.

There are some beautiful spanish songs you could dance to! I used to have a bunch of spanish/english mashup songs from when I went to Cuba.
We danced to ‘Love will keep us Alive’ by The Eagles for our first dance. Our last dance was ‘All of Me’ – John Legend probably the #1 wedding song of the year but we loved it and also used it when we signed the register.

I am Dominican so we will start with a Sinatra song and go into a salsa song. I am torn between I will always love you by Tito Nieves or tu amor me hace bien by Mark Anthony.
I truly love that song. My Fiance hates it because I play it all the time. Oooops

I originally had my heart set on “you and me” by lifehouse, but Fiance didn’t want to dance to the same song that his friends danced to in their weddings.
Now we chose “Inside your heaven” by Carrie Underwood. It’s an amazing song, and Fiance says it reminds him of the change I’ve brought into his life 😀

Hi I am Mexican and Black and He is Russian and Peruvian we are going to do a three part first dance. We will start off with something cheesy like LOVE by Sinatra dancing like middle schoolers then transition into Suavemente By Elvis Crespo and finally THRILLER!!

Honestly, “Closing Time” by Semisonic. It’s our song, and everytime either of us hears it, it just makes us think back to the “night we fell in love,” as we call it.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones – it’s been one of my all-time favorite songs since it was released. So romantic and beautiful and happy 🙂

Jack Johnson has been a constant in our relationship over the years. when we started dating we loved bubbley toes and always joked we would dance at our wedding to it. So when we started thinking about what song we wanted to dance to that was the first song he played. Better together and I got you are also close contenders.

My husband and I never had a first dance when we married.
For our vow renewal, we will dance to “This Love” by The Joytones.
Look it up on Youtube. It is a song from the 60s.
We dance to it every anniversary because it is our song.

We’re probably going to do Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” Of course, we’re also talking about doing Joey Ramone’s version for the recessional, which I think would be a hoot, but now that we’re probably going with a more formal venue… I think we’ll stick with Armstrong’s version for the first dance.

“Wildflowers” by Tom Petty. We both love Tom Petty, and we both had other songs we really wanted to use (I wanted “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis and he wanted “Follow You Down” by Shinedown). We couldn’t agree on either of those, and we LOVE Parks and Rec, so while watching the Ann and Chris episode, Wildflowers came on and we both sort of looked at each other and were like, “I can do this song.” It was a nice little compromise, and it’s not too long or super slow so it worked perfectly.

Ours was “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelsen. On one of our first dates- this song came on the radio and I was feeling bold, so I sang along to it… he said he loved the way I sang, and I jokingly told him “if we ever get married, this can be our first dance”… 4 months later he proposed and 18 months later we got married.

Very early on, we chose You and I by John Legend, but now we are unsure. We liked it when it was a little known song from his album, but now it has been released as a single. And to make matters worse, it is kinda over shadowed by John Legend’s All of Me. So it’s like, ‘did people not really like our song?’ I am probably thinking way too far into this, but I can’t help it.
