Anything along the lines of a sandwich – panini, turkish bread, ciabata etc with fillings that aren’t egg or bacon. Also salads are more lunch than breakfast.

I honestly always thought brunch was an excuse to have breakfast foods later in the day. Lunchy options just never seemed as appetising around 11am. I probably wouldn’t worry too much about it 🙂

When I think of brunch, I think of lox & bagels (with cream cheese, capers, red onions), savory waffles (waffle batter mixed with cheese, bacon, scallions, etc.), quiches, frittatas. In addition to the sweeter breakfast stuff. I can’t really imagine having a salad or pasta for brunch, but that’s just me.

Brunch is usually mostly breakfast foods, just served later in the day and often with alcohol. Things like fritattas, poached eggs in hollandaise, pancakes, smoked salmon, homefries/hashbrowns, some places do fried chicken and waffles (that’s a more regional dish). For beverages I usually see bloody marys, mimosas, and bellinis. Source: I’m a food writer.

Heck no to the people saying it’s all about breakfast – to me, it’s about finally being able to have some salad or tasty greens with my eggs, so I’m glad you’re not skimping on the lunch options! Veggies in general, which are lacking for breakfast.
