I have a few years of part time (music) teaching experience. I currently teach private music lessons and have subbed and taught classes at two public schools a few times. I have a degree from the University of Oklahoma and have also coordinated one of the largest music camps in Texas for two years in a row. Also, when I was in undergrad, I had my own classroom at the university with elementary students teaching music history. I was also a professor’s personal assistant when I worked on my (unfinished) masters. I ran his small business and dealt with all matters pertaining to merchandising, sales and advertising.
I love teaching and would like to branch out from music and find some more full time work but I dont know what I am qualified for and what would be a good fit. I am hoping to find a preschool position over the summer or possibly a teacher aid job once school starts. I’m hoping to pass the Texas bilingual certification exam in the next six months.
At this point, I really just want to find full time work. I love plants, animals, nature, kids, being active and maybe a little bit of adventure. I really don’t like cubicles or extremely detailed work like data entry but I guess I’m willing to do anything to get the bills paid. I don’t mind getting dirty or learning new things at all. I think my dream job (right now besides teaching) would be a firefighter but I’m too small to pass that test and jobs are hard to get.
Any ideas lol?
