Scrapbook.  Michaels.  $20 + other scrapbook supplies.  I hardly ever look at pictures.

Holy crap, $1800?  No way, unless you *really* want it.  We made hardcover blurb books for ourselves and our parents (blurb.com), a regular photo album of 200 4×6 prints (snapfish.com), and enlargements (mpix.com) for <$200 including buying frames and mats!

A little more effort, but a way better deal!  Even if you have to pay for rights to the digital negatives, it’s still better =P

Ha, my amazing photographer is only charging me $1800 total for 8 hours of work, the CD of all images and a $200 print credit! No way you could get me to pay $1800 for a glorified photo album. Peihan17’s suggestion is exactly what I came here to suggest — or put together one with actual prints with a beautiful album you bought at Michael’s and put the extra money in the fund you’re saving for the down payment on your first house.
