I just got engaged over the weekend and now that I have the ring I’m curious about wedding bands. I have an art deco, ruby and diamond e-ring, in platnum. I’ve been trying to get some ideas online–do you think I should incorperate rubies into the wedding band or would it overpower the ring? Any idea’s, input, opinions and pictures for reference would be a great help! Thanks!

I don’t have any ideas but had to say your ring is a stunner! Congrads!

That’s a good question; I’m having the same problem with my Edwardian e-ring (not much goes with it!) Maybe you could find or design a simple diamond/platinum band that matches your ring?
Have you looked on Etsy for vintage wedding bands?

GORGEOUS Ring… truly STUNNING.
Like other Bees, I would think it would look very nice with a Band that features BOTH Diamonds & Rubies…
Maybe something like the one @weddingbound: has shown above (Reply # 5) above, or maybe like this sampling from GOOGLE IMAGES
Lots to choose from and some conveying more of a Vintage Feel than others.
And remember, anything you find in Gold Gold, can usually also be found in White Gold… or you can have something custom made (not as expensive as many would imagine… and it gives you more control over the design, quality of stones, cost etc)
Hope this helps,

@vintagebride143: I love your ring!!! I would choose a thin plain platinum band so as not to take away from it!!

@wrkbrk: +1 I definitely agree with a thin band.
OP, your ring is stunning. I loveee the color of your rubies!

i have an art deco ring and i went with a thin band of the same era. I kept trying on new platinum bands and the mismatching colors annoyed me. We bought my band on Eragem and I love it!!

@vintagebride143: What an amazing french cut ruby halo ring!
I cannot imagine it with any other wedding band but a thin french cut diamond ring w/ milgrain (without rubies, as I feel that would be over-powering).

@MrsSkeletonKey: +1. That ring you posted would be perfect.

@MrsSkeletonKey: Lovely suggestion!
While a mix of diamonds and rubies could be nice, the diamond band MrsSkeletonKey posted seems perfect. It would be gorgeous if worn alone, but would always let your engagement ring be the star when they are worn together.

Thanks, guys! 🙂
I also loveee it & I hope she chooses it, or something like it, because it really is such vintage inspired elegance that would pair perfectly with her e-ring (plus, lets face it, french cut diamonds are incredible!)

@MrsSkeletonKey: You’re awesome! Where is that band from?
Nice job ladies, thank you all so much for your input! I have some great ideas now! 🙂
