I use FAM and condoms.  We’re really conservative about when we go without condoms, though.  I couldn’t stand abstaining during fertile times — that’s when sex is the best.

We use the “wish and a prayer” method.

We use FAM and abstain during the fertile window. It’s not too bad to wait because you always know it’s only for a short time period. I feel more frustrated for him than myself (though he never complains), because I am the one who wants to use this method.

I was on the pill for about 8 years and only used that, no additional methods unless I missed a pill or was on antibiotics. Never had a problem.

I went off the pills a few months before TTC and we used FAM plus withdrawal or condoms, depending on our mood, during the fertile window. We were much less strict about it than we would have been if we werent TTCing in a few months anyway.

Oh, and I was wondering about whether a lot of people double up on methods too, when I read the other thread.

Well, I voted FAM + Withdrawal, but I was one of those that was talking about doubling up… before we were married.

We used Hormonal + Barrier prior to our engagement, just used Barrier during our engagement (had to come off hormonal) and now we are NTNT so we’re just….meh. I do track my cycle for two reasons – 1. I have PCOS and Endo and it’s an insane cycle, so for the future and 2. Because I want to know when/if I Ovulate.

@artichokey:  Before we were TTC we used the withdrawral method which is obv not 100 percent. We didn’t really mind if we fell pregnant though.

We just use the pill now that we’re married.

But while we were in college and just dating, we doubled up and used both the pill and condoms.  We didn’t want to take any chances.

We use the pill plus spermicidal film (it’s both a chemical and physical barrier).

I got pregnant on Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo taking it perfectly, so i’m on a different pill now, and we are extra careful with our backup method.

I’ve been on hormonal BC since I was 17.  So…nearly 13 years now.

Before we were married we used condoms too but ditched those afterwards.
