Well I picked the wrong one, but we use hormonal and barrier– I’ve known too many people who got pregnant from just 1 or the other.

FAM + condoms (during fertile window; I am extremely conservative with my fertile window (I start my unsafe window at day 10 of my cycle and end it around day 23-25 (depending on dry days), that’s of a 33 day cycle).

Just the pill for me. Works like a charm and no side effects. 🙂

I use the patch, i have a lot of medical conditions that made it hard to find the right time to take the pill without worrying about all my other medication. I have used it for 6 years now, Will be stopping in november to clear out my system for TTC. (happy dance all over the living room!!!) Its been great and i have 0 complaints.

This is interesting. I also have had an an IUD for 3 years and we just use that. However, I really want to switch to FAM as well. I’ll probably have it taken out around the end of the year, and we’ll also be conservative, and use condoms for a good chunk of the time anyway.

Just the pill and I sure hope it’s effective!  My first period since marriage is due in 2 days and I keep having these mini panic attacks for fear that the tiny pill won’t combat all this.. activity….!

We do the fertility awareness method (not very strict about it), then the withdrawal method when I’m ovulating (or abstain). I know I’m “asking for it” by not following it so closely, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if I got pregnant. I hated hormonal contraceptives,  condoms are uncomfortable, and I don’t like the long-termedness (??) of the IUD. So, it works! And this is what we’ve been doing for over a year. So far, so good! 🙂

We use FAM and barrier or withdrawal during the fertile window.

I doubled up with pill and condoms through college too, didn’t want to take any chances. We maintained both until about 6 months into our marriage when we decided we could be a bit more risky and just use condoms because my body was reacting adversely to the pill and I got sick of switching pills every 2-3 years.

@jennicole01:  Yes- that book is amazing. Every 12-year old girl should read it- it’s pretty fascinating what signals your body gives you throughout the month.
