(Closed) What kind of cake are you having?

We are going with a 3 tier cake. With chocolate with chocolate mousse filling in one tier. The next tier is going to be white chocolate with strawberry jelly filling. As for our top tier, we haven’t decided yet. We are going with smooth buttercream because in laws hate fondant.

The lady making my cake makes a wonderful pumpkin cake and I want it so bad, but the wedding is kind of the wrong time of year for that. So I haven’t decided yet, Fiance doesn’t like cake so it’s really just for me and the guests. I would do chocolate, but I know several who don’t like it.

We had chocolate/chocolate mousse filling and orange cake with vanilla filling like a creamsicle.  So tasty.

We are having buttercream (due to fondant tasting so yucky, although I love the way it looks).
I’m guessing about 4-5 tiers.  I like round, but my Fiance likes squares.  I think we’ll end up doing hectagons since we both like those.

I haven’t decided on the design/embelishments yet.  Although, it is next on my ‘to-do’ list! 🙂

Whoops, I forgot to say that we are doing white cake (crowd pleaser), chocolate (FI fave), and red velvet (my fave).

we are doing a 4 tier cake with 4 different flavors! (vanilla strawberry filling, chocolate with white chocolate filling, lemon with raspberry filling, and redvelvet with cream cheese filling!) i cant wait!!! it will be frosted with buttercream and covered in marshmellow fondant (its actually very good!)

We’re having 9 nine inch round cakes.  We’re asking each woman in our family (my mom, his mom, grandma, step-mother, and aunts) to make a 9″ round cake for our reception.  We will have boston creme pie, german chocolate, double chocolate, regular white cake, carrot…and some others.  I figured everyone would get a slice of cake that they liked, and we don’t have to spend a ton on a wedding cake.  We’re making a cake ourselves for the cake cutting so no one will have their feelings hurt that we cut someone else’s cake.

Two different flavors, white cake with raspberry filling and chocolate cake with almond cream filling. Both with white(ish) buttercream. mmm 🙂
