@graygodess20:  I have had nothing but bad luck with cars up until my Subaru. My first car was 10 years old when I started driving it. I had to pull the fuses for the horn and the blower fan because there was a short in one of the wires that made the horn go off randomly and the blower was either off or on high heat at all times. My truck was a piece; stuff would randomly not work (my 4wd worked when it wanted to, despite no one finding any problems with it), and I put about $2000 into it BEFORE I got into an accident that needed another $2000 into it just to get it street legal. I only paid $3500 for it! My Nissan was okay, had a few minor and annoying problems, but the biggest was that, right before Christmas, the fuel pump died, and I had to leave it in the parking lot at work while I went out of town. While that was getting fixed, they knocked a rust spot off of the interior of my passenger door, right where the sensor is, so my alarm never engaged and my “door open” light was always on. Oh, and they’re idiots who didn’t think to tell me that, in addition to the fuel pump, I’d need a new sensor so that my gas gauge wouldn’t read 1/4 tank MORE than I had (which caused me to run out of gas right after I got it back). I won’t ever go back to that place.

I have a 2007 Hyundai Tucson 5 speed manual transmission.  It’s only 4 cylinders so it’s AMAZING on gas.  I have three dogs (and two of them are great danes) and I can comfortably fit all three of them in the car at one time.  The rear seats lay all the way flat, and the back of the seats are covered with a durable plastic instead of cloth or leather so the dogs don’t puncture through anything with their toenails.  I bought that car new for around $20k (a bit less I think) and paid it off within 2 years.  I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off!

    I just bought a 2012 Toyota yaris

I know it’s a little nothing car compared to the other subcompacts out there (fiesta, mazda 2, accent, etc) but I love it. I had a chevy Cavalier that unfortunately got in a wreck and the yaris is the only one that really reminds me of my old car. It just feels like home.

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport, which I’ve been driving for five years now. It’s a 2-door SUV and it gets me where I need to go.  I’m going to have to get a new car soon in the next year or so, though.  Tons of problems keep popping up with it.  SO has an SUV, so I’ll get some kind kind of gas efficient car, which terrifies me because I’ve only ever driven SUVs.

I drive a 2010 Toyota Venza and Mr. LK drives a 2010 Ford F-150 FX4 crewcab. We love our vehicles. The Venza has amazing legroom. Mr. LK can have the driver’s seat all the way back, and teen LK, who is 6′, can still comfortably sit behind him. And it had all around 5 star safety ratings and AWD. Plus it drives well on our curvy country roads. LOVE! And Mr. LK is so incredibly happy with his truck. It’s great for the teenager and the dog, has such a nice ride, and more leg room that we know what to do with. We plan to keep these vehicles for a very long time. 🙂

I have a 2008 hyundai accent hatchback. He has a 2012 WV Jetta. Well, the Jetta is in both our names, but he is the primary driver. Let me just say that I LOVE both cars. My “pregnant skateboard” car is awesome for zipping around the city and fits as much in the trunk as a honda civic would. And Jettas are just freaking awesome.

    I drive a 2009 Subaru Legacy.

I am absolutely in love with my Subaru. I live in Pennsylvania so I need something that has AWD. Last winter wasn’t bad at all but when it did snow my Subaru handled it like a champ. Before it I had a Pontiac G5, I had to pratically beg it to drive in the snow, it would swerve all over the place and I was terrified driving it. One day it snowed very bad while I was at work, it snowed maybe 6 inches in an hour and it was still coming down. I literally could not get out of the parking lot, my Pontiac was swerving all over the place. I decided that the only option was to walk home. Luckily I live 6 miles from work, but in the snow  it took me 3 hours. I bought my Subaru this past October when I totaled my Pontiac. 2 huge deer ran out infront of me, I hydroplaned and I ended up hiting a rock retaining wall. That moment I decided I NEED something AWD.

My Subaru’s name is Ruby Ru. It confuses a lot of people because my car is blue, but I got the name from the “ru”.

2005 Scion xA. I bought it while still an intern and needed an inexpensive car payment. It’s definitely not the greatest car ever but tt’s been paid off for two years now and I love not having a payment.

Think my next car will definitely be a Subaru. My mom has had two and I love her Impreza.

2004 Mini Cooper! It’s currently in the shop and so I’m driving a free loaner- a 2012 mini cooper. Best. Cars. Ever. Great MPG, drives like a scootie little gocart, surprising amount of storage capicity, extremely safe, effing adorable, and super comfortable. I’m 5’11 and Fiance is 6’3 and my mini is easier to get in an out of than his Toyota Celica.

@vorpalette:  I love how you two both have Subaru Impreza’s. Fiance and I both have Subaru Legacy’s (I have an 09 and Fiance has an 07). We didn’t do it intentionally, after I totaled my car in October I was only looking at Subaru’s and I just so happen to find a Legacy.

I’m loving all the Subaru love here! My Fiance is obsessed with Subaru, he’s driving an old Chevy truck right now, but his dream car is a Forrester. That is part of the reason why I went with the FR-S – it has the Subaru engine.

@misscat1121:  I totally agree – BRZ sounds so much better that FR-S. It reminds of “Fritz” . .lol But anyhow, I was not able to find and BRZs in my area 🙁 Fiance would have loved it
