NOBODY should eat kids cereal as a meal. It is so horrible, really it should only be eaten as a limited dessert. Almost all cereals (even the ones marketed as “healthy”) have an insane amount of sugar. If I must eat cereal, I have plain bran flakes with fresh fruit to sweeten it.

Something else to consider – palm oil is used in almost all cereals, as well, which is grown in areas where primary rainforest has been cleared to grow the palms. No thank you!

@LadyBlackheart:  Coco Pops and Weetos are my favourites, although I have been behaving myself recently and getting off-brand Special K.

I also had Lucky Charms for the first time ever when I was in Canada last year and they are AMAZING. If they were cheaper over here I would have them all the time.

We only eat whole grain/low sugar cereal- Grape Nuts, some Kashi varieties (my favorite is 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffs), homemade granola so I can control the sugar/fat content.

I also eat a lot of oatmeal- plain old-fashioned rolled or steel cut, not instant. Then I add fruit and nuts to it (or sometimes an egg, some cheddar, and scallions! Yum!).

I only eat cereal once or twice a week as a treat as they are loaded with sugar. My favourite lately is Honey Bunches of Oats but I only buy them when they are on sale because I’m not spending more that $5 on a box of cereal. I also love Cheerios but only honey nut and plain

We have some version of cheerios in the house at all times.  I also love quacker oatmeal squares.  SO GOOD!  We also have oatmeal, cream of wheat, and steel cut oats for hot cereals.  But I love kid cereal too lol.  I haven’t had lucky charms in forever and could go for a big fat bowl of delicious right about now.

I don’t like cereal so I don’t eat any kind, but I sure as hell still buy kids fruit snacks sometimes…

If I eat cereal then it’s oatmeal or Special K. My usual breakfast is yogurt and granola

I haven’t eaten cereal in almost a year because I changed my eating habits and realized that cereal is not worth the calories. However, before that I loved captain crunch. I didn’t really care if it was marketed towards kids.

I love Raisen Bran Crunch, Special K Red Berries, and Honey Nut Cheerios. 🙂

I would eat Lucky Charms, but I have a bad habit of just picking out the marshmallows and eating them.

I try not to eat stuff that’s exclusively carbs, which is most cereals besides Kashi (they tend to have protein/fiber but they’re also high in calories), so I don’t really like to have sugary cereals in the house, be they for children or adults.  Most cereals consist of 2 main ingrediants: sugar and flour.  I’d rather eat yogurt or a protein shake in the morning and then get my sugar/flour fix from something delicious, like a cookie.

I love how something as lighthearted as Fruit Loops vs Raisin Bran turns into you’re killing the rainforest and your body from the inside.

Organic oatmeal. I really love cereals – especially like Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat, Cheerios, etc. But they have GMOs in them so I don’t buy them anymore.

Yeah, listen to you man.  That stuff is a pure sugar bomb and is absolutely terrible for you.  And yes, all of those brands are marketed directly to kids (which is abhorent, given how unhealthy they are).

I personally don’t eat cereal anymore, but when I did I wouldn’t allow anything covered in sugar.  Cereals like Vector and Just Right were about as sugary as it got, and I’d usually try to stick to better things like plain Bran Flakes or Shreddies (unfrosted).    If you add a handful of plain raisins or chopped walnuts it makes a pretty decent breakfast.

Read the lables, because often cereals marketed as “healthy” or “adult” are almost as bad for you as the kids stuff.

Lol we have raisin bran and its the most ignored cereal we have. It’ll probably expire before we finish it. Dh has similar tastes to me including cereal. Lucky charms are so good. We also have cinnamon toast crunch, fruit loops, honey bunches of oats and my favorite non “kid” cereal Quaker oats brown sugar squares. I’ve been craving cereal lately. Also honey comb but I haven’t seen them lately 🙁
