(Closed) What kind of family do you want?

A big family, lots of kids, dogs/cats running around, full of laughter and love

One or two kids, maybe an animal, full of love and upgrades :)

No kids, me and hubby forever full of love and doing what we want when we want

Any family types I'm leaving out?

as many dogs as we can rescue, and take care of given our living situation, and I’m hoping for 4 kids, but we’ll probably have two.

We want 2-3 kids. Now that we know we’re having another girl in October, we’ll probably try for a boy. Maybe a cat in the future, but we’re fine with our goldfish for the time being.

Pets, 2-3 kids, lots of love, and I’m not sure what you mean by “upgrades” in the poll options.

When my husband had his vasectomy, he made a toast:

“Here’s to a wonderful life. Childfree…just the two of us.” Laughing It was so sweet.

We have a fluffy white cat as well.

Wait, I think I know what you meant… to keep buying a bigger house, fancier car, and so on.

We are definitely not interested in that… we want things of good quality and not to spend beyond that. We do not want to live paycheck to paycheck though. We have an approach where we “save money just to save money” (default is save, not spend). This money is saved for emergencies, unexpected expenses, psychological comfort, retirement, and to pass down to our kids.

Two, maybe three kids, and at least two animals.  FI is aware of the number of children I want, but not of how many animals.  I grew up with a large number of animals in our household (at one point, we had six cats and three dogs!), and while I don’t want THAT many, I would like to have a few pets.

We have a cat, a dog and a gecko at the moment.  Looking to have 2 kids, I know DH is kinda considering maybe a 3 but I would be happy with 2.

We have a cat already and are planning to have one child and adopt one. Pretty excited since we’re going to start ttc soon!

Because of my age and circumstances beyond my control, I will say one child and probably one pet. If I had married young I would have liked a big family.

Probably 1, maybe 2 kids.  If we get a house, maybe pets.  I want a couple of rabbits again in the future, but my husband likes dogs better, and I don’t want those two animals together.  I’m fine not having pets for a long while, though.  A break is good.

2 kids, 1 dog for my husband and I… and when the kids get older, whatever animal they each want…. dog, cat, whatever.

We want just one baby and lots of animals. We have 3 cats, a dog, and ready… a tarantula. We have had the tarantula for 14 years, and SHE will probably live to be 40-50 yrs. old. She is a unique pet, we don’t “play” with her, ever. She is just to look at and is a peaceful and quiet pet. Kind of a silly pet, but we love the 3 cats and dog. But 1 baby would complete our family.

I feel like I’m a combo of the first two options.  I voted big family because we will probably have more than two children.  I don’t necessarily think that’s “big” lol but okay.  We will probably have three children and two dogs.  We want to be able to go on vacations and upgrade our future home, etc.
