Those are definitely mums, and yes mums can get quite large. I think there is a variety called “football” mums that look just like that.

Oh my goodness! I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a football mum!  I think I’ve just found a way to incorporate ‘football’ into the party we’re having this spring celebrating our marriage!!!

it is a specific large bloom kind of a chrysanthemum.

That bouquet has 3 types of mums in there. 

No dahlia but it was a good try. 🙂
