Paper! ^_^ I’m making yellow and white crepe and tissue paper roses, peonies, daisies, etc. for the bouquets, bouts, corsages, and some of the centerpieces (other centerpieces will be jars with candles).
We’re going with a navy, kelly green, and yellow color scheme. I’ve never been a fan of white flowers for myself (though they look pretty at other people’s weddings) and I just love the color yellow. Plus, when I looked at my budget, flowers were what I cared least about, so away they went! ^_^ Originally I wanted a loose wildflower look with yellow and white flowers and greenery but paper suits me just fine and the price is infinitely better. ^_^

We are using almost all white flowers. The bouquets, guy’s flowers, and a few other arrangements will be real flowers. The centerpieces and the flowers decorating the gazebo are silk, but they look real. Our flowers are a mixture of peonies, white roses, and hydrandgeas.

I’m using all white roses. It fits into our elegant winter themed wedding. These are the mockup of the centerpeices…..

@Tachee-those tuiips are beautiful! I have never seen purple tulips before and I think you might have inspired me to use something different in my bouquet now!

we haven’t contacted florists yet, but definitely want gardenias in my bouquet. i love their scent and the way they look. i also like gerber daisies, calla lilies, and all kinds of orchids. wishing that flowers didn’t cost as much as they do.

I am somewhat surprised that I haven’t seen anyone say sunflowers. I have seen quite a few wedding pictures with them but I guess they just stood out b/c I love sunflowers. Unfortunately I am having a little trouble deciding what to put with them. I don’t want huge bouquets or huge centerpieces but I don’t really know what flowers will look good with sunflowers. My colors are slate blue, ivory, black, and yellow (mainly just the sunflowers). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m between two very different flowers… either hydrangea or yellow raununculus. I love them both for different reasons. I don’t know if we could try mixing the two together somehow.. maybe white/green hydrangea with the yellow raununclus. Although part of the reason I love the hydragea is because of that vibrant blue/purple color. I think we’re going to do a little more research on prices/etc. and try some test arrangements (planning on doing these DYI).

I’m going with mainly hydrangeas (blue for me and white for my BMs — blue is our color). Depending on the pricing, I may mix a cream colored rose or two in/use them as bouts.
I love how big and (beautifully) blue hydrangeas are (takes fewer flowers to make a bouquet!) and my sorority’s flower is a cream colored rose. I thought it might be a nice way to incorporate the sorority without going overboard/having our symbol everywhere/making the wedding colors my sorority colors.
I don’t think we’ll have flowers on the tables though — I think we’re going with candles to save some $$$!

I’m planning to DIY all of the flowers – using real touch silk flowers. Wedding will be Oct 2010, and the colors are Truffle, Latte, and Cinnamon. Planning to use Hydrangea, mums, peonies, (all in shades of burgandy and cinnamon)and whatever else looks good in the mix. I’ll get pics up of mine as soon as I get them going. Here’s a few of the ones I like though…

@Miss Bliss: That’s awesome, thanks so much! I am in love with those purple tulips and if I wasn’t stuck on my colors I’d be using them too!

I am excited about our flowers! My bouquet will have burgundy dahlias, burnt orange calla lilies, orange cymbidium orchids, and green kermit poms. My ladies will carry the dahlias, orchids, and kermit poms. May sound funky…but I like it! 🙂 The main flower I wanted was the dahlia, and the others just pretty much came to be.

I used white roses, bachelor’s buttons, bells of ireland, stephanotis and ivy. It is a tradition in my family to use the flowers of your mother/grandmother/great grandmother in your bouquet. Picking flowers was one of my favorite things to do!

Bouquets: White and red calla lilies (depending on the bouquet, mine will be different from BMs and JBMs), mixture of long stem and short stem (also depending on whose bouquet)
Decoration: White calla lilies, long stem
Corsages & boutonnieres: Mini calla lilies (white and red depending on what guys are wearing)
Cake: Orange asiatic lilies
Centerpieces: White mini calla lilies, orange asiatic lilies, and fruit (I know, not a flower)
Memorial table for grandpa: Yellow roses (totally different from everything else, but they were his favorite flower)
Other decoration: More white calla lilies and orange asiatic lilies
