What about doing a catered bar-b-que with steaks, corn on the cob, and potato salad. I think that would give it a more upscale feeling and at the same time be a little more laid back. Also, you could have hamburger and hot dogs for the kids meals.

@Ronneykay: I’m totally doing the smoked pulled pork thing…I don’t think it would be too bad. I’ll put a napkin under my chin if I have to 😉

What about burgers and brats with sides like potato salad, corn, or coleslaw, or something?

@noritake22: Just a warning on the caterered BBQ – that’s what we’re doing, and it’s costing us about $10 a head more than a chicken plated dinner. So, classy and tasty, yes. Cheap, no.
