I Just recently bought MAC foundation and Concealer, and although its a little heavier than what i was using before (clinique) it looks very natural, and does a good job of hiding inperfections. I know it has an spf in it, but I think it is good for pictures also. its not caky at all as long as you dont put too much on.

Maybe try some kind of mineral makeup (I just started using bare essentuals–dont know how I feel about it though yet).  But you can up the coverage and it’s pretty lightweight.  I know Estee Lauder and Lancome are really good brands too.  Really smooth and good coverage without being cakey.  I think they’re sorta pricey though.

@HardyPooleParty: haha yeah i agree. i had to blend mine in a little when the woman put it on me, but it had a really good effect.  i have heard good things about Bare essentuals too, but i havent personally tried it. I say try and get samples if you can, and just see what works with your skin best. maybe go to a sephora and talk to one of the girls in there, they can be pretty helpful, and they dont promote just one brand

I swear by MakeUp Forever sold at sephora.  It gives full coverage without feeling heavy or “cakey”.

A tip that I was given for wedding makeup is to not wear anything with SPF in it. It reacts with the flash in the camera and will mess up your skin tone in pictures. Good luck!

I totally recommend Pur minerals.  I used bare essentials for a few months before being introduced to pur minerals.  I love soooo much more than bare minerals and it is surprisingly cheaper.

I use it and  my MOH also uses it.  We have very different complexions and it works great for us both.  Just as proof, we both did our own makeup for my wedding and I thought we looked very nice.  This was our bathroom happy snap just after finishing our makeup on my wedding day.  (not a pro picture and totally not retouched)

Definitely the Make Up Forever HD foundation & primer.  It’s fantastic.  Go into any Sephora & tell them you want samples.  You’ll have enough to try it for a few days.

I also use Smashbox’s Light photo finish primer.  Mineral makeups can wear off easily without some type of primer.

Of course I have some cheap drug store brand blush, eye shadow, eye liner and mascara on but there is no concelear, powder, or other fancy skin products that I am wearing.

I love it and use it on a daily basis.  Depending on how you apply (brush or sponge) you can decide how much coverage you want to use.

I do not have any major skin issues but my my Maid/Matron of Honor (one of the right in the picture) has blemish issues and some scarring from previous blemishes and this works wonders for her also.  It is paraben free so it does not clog pores.  Wonderful

Seriously I am a true believe in Pur Minerals and I have jumped around from prescriptives, lancome, mary kay, drug store brands, etc.

I went to Sephora this weekend for the whole gamut of wedding makeup.  I ended up getting Bare Escentuals foundation kit, I forget the brand of the concealer, Lorac blush, and the Sephora smoky eye kit for my eye makeup.  I was really excited about how it looked when the employee did it, so here’s hoping I can recreate the look for myself!
