My husband and I decided that with a portion of our tax return money, we would buy a new king size mattress!! There are so many of them out there, I figured I would start by asking opinons on the bee! We currently have a 10 year old king mattress that offers little to no support. Our backs hurt and I toss and turn all night. I am a side sleeper and my husband can sleep any way! I am looking at staying at $1,000 or below. We belong to Costco, so that is where I ideally would start searching. Anyone have any experience with Costco mattresses? Pillow top, memory foam, gel memory foam………so many choices!

Lolasmomma: This mattress was ranked a Consumer Reports best buy from Costco. It doesn’t get great reviews on their site though.
They do take returns on mattresses at Costco, but I think you have to bring them to the store yourself, which obviously isn’t easy or convenient.

My fiancé and I have a top of the line temperpedic… It’s the most amazing thing ever. You should consider adjusting your budget a bit and try these things…you literally spend 1/3 of your life here! I feel so so good in the morning, I don’t have any pain or issues! I can’t reccomednd anything else! If you buy a regular bed, 10 years fromnow, if not sooner you’ll just end up replacing it!

we have a stearns & foster mattress… it was mine before he moved in, and it’s probably 7 years old. it’s lasted really well, to be honest. i think it was a $2000 mattress/boxspring set that i got as a floor sample for $500. i love our mattress (:
i do know that my grandparents swore by sealy posturepedic before they got a sleep number bed. they always had posturepedic mattresses.

We’ve had really good luck with the Original Mattress Factory. They are locally based, so I’m not sure if they have stores everywhere. We just got rid of the mattress my parents bought me when I still lived at home (from Original Mattress Factory). We looked at some foam mattresses but decided not to go that route due to budget.
