We adopted a pup in January from a shelter in Tennessee. When we adopted her, the descriptions said she was a bernese mountain dog/lab mix. Clearly she is not this type of mix. What do you think she is?
She weighs about 55lbs. at 9 months. She doesn’t bark a lot and is NOT protective (only at the vacuum). She is very social. Loves other dogs and people. She is a little more on the mellow side as well. She has a tail that curls like a question mark. Only one ear has straightened, the other remains floppy.
I have included two pictures…one today and (2nd) one as a puppy.

Maybe some german shepherd? There is a dog at the shelter I support that has a lab mother, and he has a similar look to your dog as a puppy. I think german shepherd and lab mix. Maybe a bit of heeler too?

The markings on her face and the dark “saddle” make her look like german shepherd. GS’s start off dark like that as puppies and then lighten up as adults like yours did.

german sheperd for sure. We also have a mutt and did not agree with what the shelter thought he was so on his 1st birthday we got the dna test for dogs. Wisdom panel insights http://www.wisdompanel.com/is what we did from petsmart/petco i think. I just had to send back some swabs from inside his mouth and in about 3 weeks i got the results in an email.
Our pup who was initally told as a german sheperd mix (see puppy pic)
was listed on the dna test as a chow chow(40%) and lab (20%). Makes much more sense I think. (see second pic)

Looks like a shepherd lab mix. Maybe some terrier too.

German Shepherd & Lab mix would be my guess. She’s a beautiful dog! Can you post a pic of her standing up?

Definately has German Shepherd in her. The other dog(s) are a toss up.

My first thought was german and chow chow but I donno, 55 lbs seems a bit light – maybe there’s something else in there too.

I am definitely going to look into the DNA testing. I am really curious.
I don’t seem to have a picture of her standing up. Sorry!

I say German Shepard and Yellow Lab too. So cute though. 🙂

Really? I actually think she has husky in her! I have grown up around husky mix and the personality and tail sound like husky traits. So totally German Sheperd/Husky Mix…maybe with a bit of Lab. I always love Heniz 57’s.

My guess is German Shepherd and I think I see some Sharpei, possibly? What a cutie though!
