I’m planning a reception with sit-down dinner and dancing, but I’ve been to weddings with all the types of events you listed above and they were all lovely. It really just depends what you want, what time of day your event is and what your budget can handle.

We had a sit down dinner with no dancing and it was great for our needs.  We had a very small wedding and loved just being able to socialize with everyone while eating which was perfect for our personalities.

We are having a ceremony, cocktail hour, sit-down dinner and then dancing. It’s all I’ve ever really known as far as weddings go and I think it works for us.

    Other!

We will have the ceremony and pictures… and then my guests can join us for dinner if they’d like or go their own ways (i just need to know their plans 90s before so i can make reservations). Then there will be an Illuminations dessert party in Disney’s Epcot for our reception.

We are doing a 5:30 ceremony, cocktail hour with stationary hors d’oeuvres from 5:45-6:45, a sit-down buffet dinner at 7:00 and then dancing the rest of the night. Can’t wait!

We’re having a morning ceremony (11am) with a cocktail hour, followed by a brunch reception (1pm) all at one location, a golf club that is closed to the public.  There will be space to dance if anyone wants to.

Wedding (at 5:30) and reception (at 6:30) are at the same venue (ceremony outside/reception inside), cocktail & passed hors d’oeuvres while we are finishing up photos, refreshing, etc, followed by a sit down meal and then dancing to follow. Late night treats (sliders, sweet potato fries, cookies, etc.) will also be brought out as the celebration comes to a close.
