I have the Dyson Animal DC25 – and LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I used to have the Dyson All-Floors DC17, which was great, but too heavy to lug up and down our carpeted stairs, so we upgraded and I couldn’t be happier! Got a great deal on Black Friday!

I have a Riccar Vibrance Premium vacuum and it has been absolutely wonderful!  I love it and it is a high enough quality vacuum that it will last me for years and years to come.  It’s even great at handling all of the dog hair that our lab sheds throughout the apartment.

I went to a specialty vacuum shop that carried a ton of brands so I could compare them and the owner who worked there for 20+ years said that, in his opinion, Riccar makes the best vacuums on the whole market.  They have all metal parts instead of cheap plastic so they hold up really well and last for years and years.  FYI – this shop also does repairs and the owner said he gets more Dyson vacuums in for repairs than any other brand by far.  The Dyson vacuums are almost all plastic and break really easily.

I have a Miele. They are like $500 but they make cleaning sooooo easy. I have a three story 2500 square foot house, which isn’t HUGE, but my dog sheds and there is hair EVERYWHERE on every piece of furniture. It has been a lifesaver. Before I got it I had a cleaning lady come because I couldn’t keep up, but now I don’t need her. It makes THAT much difference!

We have a cheapo and are planning to rip up the remaining carpeting in our house next year, and then just get a cheaper vacuum to replace our current one that’ll do well on hard floors.

My SIL just got a Dyson DC25 w/ the ball and she LOVES it!

@Mrs.KMM: Do you think it’s that Dysons aren’t built as well, or that they are the most popular? I mean, if there are more of them out there, of course he will see more of them in for repairs! (I don’t have your brand or a Dyson, just like dissecting stats 🙂 )

I’ve got a Dyson Ball- the smaller version.  I love it! Not having a bag makes taking care of it easy peasy. I don’t have any pets though.  I was first turned onto the Dyson when I used it at a restaurant about 5 years ago.  I believe they are still using the same Dyson (the big yellow non-ball one).

My mother is a bit of a vacuum snob and she swears by her Miele now that her Electrolux (with the Winter Olympics 1980 Sticker on it) died.  She would repair, repair, repair that Electrolux but says “they don’t make ’em like they used to.”  I like her Miele and she uses it every day and has a cat and dog.

I have the Dyson Animal as well.  I love that thing!  I have a norwegian elkhound so we have fur EVERYWHERE!!!!! Plus 2 cats who shed EVERYWHERE.

I have beaten the hell out of mine-dropped it down a flight stairs 2x, lent it out to a few people who don’t know how to take care of their own toys so I know they beat the crap out of mine.  I’ve had it for going on 6 or 7 years now and haven’t had one issue with it. Well I did have to order a part for it (pretty cheap too) since one of the friends that I lent it out to lost the piece-and I’m not talking with an accessory..it was a part on the vacuum that is essential (see what I mean about people not taking care of their toys)

I have a Dyson and I LOVE it (not the ball though) – it is the best vacuum cleaner Ive ever had, has really strong sucking power, is very light and easy to handle and the canister is easy to remove for quick disposal of the crap that gets picked up!

We got the Dyson Animal (ball version). I LOVE it. It is incredible. I can’t believe how much hair and dirt it picks up, it’s insane. It was an awesome upgrade for our house 🙂
