FH and I are in a debate for what kind of veil to go with my dress:
He wants a satin edged elbow length with two additional stripes near the bottom, and originally I wanted a birdcage but now I don’t know what. I don’t want to go “LOOKIE AT ME! I’m dressed all Vintage-like!” as that’s not how I am normally and I’m not sure if a birdcage is too overtop or if a longer veil is too much for the dress.
What sort of veil would you choose for the dress?

I’m not a huge fan of birdcage veils (just personal preference), so I like the idea of the elbow-length veil.

I think fingertip woul be beautiful. It would hit just about the same place your dress starts to flair out–could be very pretty!

Why not do both? you could use the longer veil he wants for the ceremony, and a smaller fascinator birdcage veil for the reception. You can find some nice inexpensive ones, or even have one made just for you! Everyone is happy
You shouldn’t feel that you can’t do the birdcage veil just because you normally don’t wear vintage style clothing or accessories already, if you like the style, do it! Your wedding is a way to include styles yu love that you normally won’t do everyday
