how sold are on having a veil? I think your dress is beautious, and I would hate to hide it …. you could go with “blusher” only… (like a bird cage only of tulle not netting)

If you must veil I would go with a single layer. (A cheap option is to DIY it…. seriously veils are one of the easiest DIYs you can do and usually you can’t tell the difference.)

I just loved her veil! I thought it was so pretty. I love that you can wear it over your face then after still wear if you want for pictures but tucked under.

Mine is very similar to hers BUT it has tiny beads instead of lace and i WONT be wearing it over my head….they call mine a Mantilla 🙂 its also long….

It’s sideways, but I love the look of the crystals on the tip:

@MM423:

The style and length of what you bought is what I was going to suggest, if you feel the quality is bad and have the $ to spend on a new one go for it!

@pyma: My veil is like hers but without the lace ecding, it has a pencil edging with peals and crystals scattered near the edges! Love it!

MaraBeth – I have the same problem!!  I bought a veil off of ebay from delicate spirits – elbow length – two tier – standard fullness (72 inches wide). Tulle is tulle right? Why pay $150 for it when I can get it for $20.

It just arrived last night.  I also wanted to wear the top tier as a blusher during the ceremony.  But the material is very bunched on the comb, so instead of a nice sheer soft look that blushers are supposed to give the bride, my face is hidden by all the folds in the material.  it honestly makes me look like a ghost!

Tying my hair into the bun helped to stretch out the material a little bit more, but I’m also wondering whether I need to buy a better quality veil, or that this one was just not meant to be worn as a blusher in the front.

MaraBeth,

I am also shopping around for more veil inspiration till I get my dress back and can try it out.  However I wanted to let you know I read online tips about leaving your veil in the bathroom while running hot shower water to let the steam “de-wrinkle” the veil.

I tried it out last night and the veil looks sooooo much better!  More relaxed and flowy and less wrinkled.  Will continue the veil therapy tonight.
