I’m pretty sure that my SO has a ring! I’m super excited and also want to get moving on brainstorming what kind of wedding we’ll have. I know I could wait until after the proposal, but I’m also afraid everyone will jump in so fast with their questions and expectations that I would like to have a rough idea soon. The thing is, I really do not want to plan a big elaborate wedding. I am terrible with dealing with vendors – it gives me a lot of anxiety. And I just don’t love event planning. I know this is what wedding planners are for – but I also don’t really want to spend the money on a full-service planner and the high price tag wedding that will go along with that. I’m hoping we can do something relatively inexpensive despite living in a higher-cost city. I’m fine with something non-traditional.
I probably seem like a prime candidate for elopement or a super small wedding, but I have a big family and friends I am close to who I know would really want to celebrate with us. I also know it’s important to SO to have a bigger celebration. Not giant, but we probably have 150 or so on our guest list.
I don’t know what to do! I’m hoping there’s some super obvious solution I’m overlooking. Oh, and to further complicate things, my family and many friends live across the country from us (though almost all of his people are near where we live). I’m open to any ideas!
