Do you plan on putting any furniture against those walls?

What type of furniture are you putting in there?  Will this be a casual room or a more formal one?  Curtain length depends on the formality of the room.  Shorter for a more casual look and longer for a more formal, elegant one.

Since the room is small and carpeted I’d go with a shorter length, just below the sill of the window and stick to a coordinating neutral color, maybe close to the color of the carpet, not too dark.

Also, you could consider some nice wooden shutters or wooden blinds.

@MrsD41503:   It will keep the look brighter since the walls are dark.  I love the wall color, btw.

Move the curtain rod to just below the ceiling and put in some floor-length curtains. It’ll make the room look bigger, especially since the wall color is making it look very small.

    Congratulations!  So exciting!  🙂

Make sure to use window treatments that won’t get your kitty tangled up, lol.  Blinds have cords, so shutters like this might be more safe for her.
