Hi Everyone! I’m working on proofing our wedding album this afternoon and I’m really having trouble deciding what to eliminate/keep!
When you made your album did you include more pictures of people or of little details? More pictures of you and your SO or of the bridal party and guests? Pictures of the ceremony, reception?
And your reasoning why if you don’t mind! Thanks 🙂

Oh I should probably mention that my photographer sent me 41 potential pages and I have to cut it down to 15 🙁

I’m getting ready to make my own wedding album and I’ve been thinking about this question too! 15 pages is tough, I don’t think I could do that haha the albums I made for our parents were 20 pages! I think I’m going to incorporate all of the pictures in ours. I’m probably only going to include the details for things that either meant a lot to me or were DIY projects that I was proud of =) good luck!

Whats most important to you? The details? telling a story of the entire day? You and your husband? Formals? of guests?
First decide that.
Then start doing cut downs.
Take out the ones you know you dont want.
Then choose the best of multiples
Then decide if its actually a good picture or not
Then at that point if there are more pages to cut out look at it. Do some pages tell the same story/have the same people as others?
Little by little whittle it down.
Walk away. Come back another day with a fresh eye. You will see things differently

@Running Elley:I am still working on my album, but my recap shows my “fake” album (the one I am giving to my dad to show his friends on all his work travels).
I have a getting ready page for each of us with details, and family photos.
I am trying to include a TON of party photos because I know in the end it will be really important to me to remember WHO was there.
IN the house we’ll probably put up 4 or so nice wedding photos.
In 15 pages you just decide what to make BIG and what to put small and share the page with many other photos.

I wuold do mostly pictures of you guys and the details in an album that small. (mine was 97 pages so obviously I didn’t edit well)

I have a couple pages with details of us–me and my dress and shoes and bouquet, him and his clothes, etc.
Then a couple pages with our bridal party, more formal serious pictures and fun ones.
Then a few with us and our respective family–me with my mom, him with his, etc.
Then I did a breakdown of the ceremony–a few shots of getting ready, Flower Girl, Round Brilliant, guys in the front, my dad walking me, a few of us during the ceremony and close family, the party, musicians, etc. Even included our invitations.
Then I did a section with the reception–formal stuff with us cutting the cake and toasting, and a lot of fun shots of the guests and the food.
The last couple pages are fun shots of guests at the reception and us driving away.
Through all of that I threw in a few pictures of details from the appropriate areas (detail of aisle in ceremony section, details of centerpieces in reception section, etc). And I tried to keep the flow nice by mixing pages with a lot of pictures with those with only one or a couple. Just so it’s not overwhelming with every page having 10 pictures.
Our whole album is 26 pages.
