I’m trying to decide what kind of late-night snacks we should offer our guests at our reception. Prices are generally around the same, but I can’t decide if we should go for something sweet, like s’mores, or savory, like pulled pork sliders.
Also, if we have 200 guests attending the wedding, do you think we need to order the same amount of late-night snacks? Since we won’t be serving them until around 10:30 or so, we figured that some of the older guests would be gone by then.

Mmmm except for the shrimp and grits I would love to have any of those options! My favorites would be the sliders and milkshakes though.
We served late night snacks for about half. Talk to you caterer about it- ours helped us decide how much to serve.

We had a S’mores Bar and it was a HUGE hit!! Our parents went to a wedding last weekend (with a lot of the same guests) and they said a bunch said they wanted S’mores again!
But I’m pretty sure sliders and milkshakes sound pretty awesome too, and as a guest I think they would be fantastic! I know a lot of people don’t like shrimp, and pork sliders can be messy.

@seattlefashionista: Definitely go with the sliders and mini milkshakes!

I recently went to a wedding where they served mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers around 11 p.m. After drinking all evening, I welcomed the snack to help counteract the alcohol!
The sweet options wouldn’t be too appealing to me if I’d been drinking all night.

It’s all about the chocolate if I want something late at night. Something super heavy/greasy like sliders (basically mini hamburgers) would make my stomach upset.

I personally think the pulled pork sliders sound amazinggg!
But, I think the biggest hit would be the sliders & mini milkshakes because they really are something for everybody. It combines that savory & sweet element.

@seattlefashionista: Omg! My two votes go to-
- Sliders w/ mini milkshake
- Warm chocolate molten cake

And I would only plan for 100 people eating them, between the old people leaving, and some people not liking to eat late at night!

Yeah, I think we’re leaning towards the sliders and mini milkshakes or the s’mores. I love the idea of the s’more bar; but @KatNewby made a good point that the sliders and shakes would be something for everyone!
However, the warm chocolate molten cakes sound pretty amazing…

@kariebee43: That would be a great idea, too! Mozzerella sticks are so delicious after a long night of drinking and dancing! I would love to bring in some burgers from a famous local burger place in Seattle, but I don’t think our caterer would be too keen on that.

Sliders and milkshakes… two of my favorite things <3

I voted s’mores before I read everything 😛 S’mores sound good, but I think sliders + milkshakes would knock it out of the park. You get something sweet and something savory and it’s practically a meal in itself. I think that will make your wedding stand out above the rest!
