I’ll be wearing a long-sleeved jacket made of the same lace as the appliques on the dress.
My question is…what length veil should I wear with it?
I really want a mantilla style veil (with a lace-and-beaded or lace-and-pearls border), and had initially thought that I’d go with a fingertip or knee-length veil. My Maid/Matron of Honor, though, who generally has a better fashion sense than I do, suggests that I might want a floor-length veil because otherwise the veil will cut across the line of the dress.
My thought is that a floor-length veil would cover more of that gorgeous train. On the other hand, since it would just be a single-layer veil, it might just give it a slightly misty appearance, so I could be wrong. I’m also 5’2″ and heavier, though my figure is hourglass and proportional. A long veil might make me look dumpier.
I’ve found a couple of floor-length and knee-length mantillas that I really like, but I’m not ordering ’til I’m sure, LOL!
Here are some of the veils I’m considering:
Lastly, I’m beginning to think that a thick lace border might be too much with all the lace on the bodice of that dress.
FYI, at the moment I’m leaning towards the second veil I listed.
