(Closed) What life style changes are you making during TTC and pregnancy?

Darling Husband and I are planning to TTC this summer. I am already trying to eat better and go to the gym more so I can be healthier when I do get pregnant. I am also planning to stop drinking will TTCing just in case

MRS-K:  I actually have an appointment for a full physical this Monday! We aren’t going to TTC until June or July, but I am planning to go off my BC pill in April to get it out of my system. Darling Husband and I will use condoms until June.

I wanted to wait until after my physical to go off my BC pill because I have hypothyroidism. It can cause certain issues with TTCing and pregnancy, and has to be monitored more closely while pregnant. So I want to ask my doctor about get requisition forms ahead of time for bloodwork. Otherwise I would have just went off of it on my own.

For pre-natal vitamins, I plan to start taking them + folic acid as soon as I go off the pill. I usually take my BC pill at night so I will just replace it with the vitamins. I heard that pre-natal vitamins can be hard on your stomach so it’s better to take them before you sleep.

During TTC I lost a lot of weight through healthy eating and exercise (which I think helped the Clomid work on my first round of fertility treatment).

Now in pregnancy, I try to keep eating healthily, I stay away from my *beloved* wine, and I also rest more. I used to be a bundle of energy, but I don’t have the same endurance. So I try not to push myself too much when I start feeling weak.

I’m not TTC yet (planning on July), but the changes I’m already making are vitamins (I take a prenatal, plus B-vitamins to help with my short luteal phase), healthier diet (I fell off the wagon for awhile and gained some weight – now I’m back to trying for healthy weight loss along with making sure I get lots of fiber and protein every day), drinking less (trying to limit it to one night per week, and even then cutting myself off at two drinks), less caffeine (one cup per day), and more exercise.  Basically all stuff to get myself as healthy as possible before TTC.

I think once we’re actually trying, I’m also going to stop drinking altogether during the TWW, and I will be weaning myself off caffeine completely (except for chocolate – I don’t count that, even though I know it has caffeine in it!).

I eat healthy (little processed foods, lots of fruits and veggies and naturally derived protein, no red meat) and exercise a ton so I am not making any changes but charting religiously!! I avoid baths/ saunas (and make Darling Husband do the same lol). And I am taking Prenatal vitamins.
