I’m asking this question because I’m sincerely interested in the minds of people and their rings lol. I’m crazy I know. I went with a white gold engagement ring, but I ADORE classic gold and think it looks warm and romantic. Do I know why I chose a white gold setting? Not really. I do know, that as much as I adore 14K rose gold, it personally just didn’t look great with my skin tone. My white gold looks sexy and on fire, but a part of me seeing the bee’s rings wishes for the warmth and beauty of yellow gold. But – seriously – how did you choose? And last but not least, show the rings off!

ALL of my jewelry is white gold, so it seemed like a no brainer, and that’s what my engagement ring is (plus that’s what goes with a blue diamond, IMO).
It was actually just last week while looking at estate wedding bands that I got interested in yellow gold! I bought the small swirly ring and have the other on hold – may go pick it up tomorrow!

Because in my country the majority wears a plain yellow gold band to mean marriage. Any other just looks like a random ring. Same with stones on the band *sigh* I am wearing a plain band and another one with stones just for fun though.

I chose yellow gold for the reasons you mentioned-I find it warm and romantic too. It actually is comforting to me, b/c it reminds me of what my mom wore when I was a kid. I also love rose gold and white gold as well though. I have some white gold and like to mix it up on my right hand. I am looking forward to getting a rose gold ring too. I usually let the color gold be dictated by the stone choice, and the colors in the stone. It is definitely like art to me and certain colors work well to compliment eachother in different ways.
Here is a pic of my wedding band, its an antique, over 100 yrs old! 🙂

I actually love rose gold and really wanted it. However, I wanted my band to match my husband’s and he preferred white over rose so I chose white gold. I also plan to set a blue sapphire that we have so it will look better in white gold, I think. 🙂

Rose because I’ve always loved the coppery tone. Darling Husband liked the shade, too, since it reminded him of patina’d brass. Otherwise, I probably would have gone with yellow gold. I prefer warmer tones on my skin.

tasharoubion: I also chose white gold because I think it looks better with pave diamonds. But when I see bees who have solid yellow gold bands, I feel just a little bit of ring envy..

futuremrsm3: That’s funny because sometimes I see pave diamonds in yellow or rose and am charmed by how you can see the pieces of prongs beside them. It was truly a hard decision!

tasharoubion: I got white gold because it looks good with my stone. Yellow would have looked too LSU or Mardi Gras’ish. I got a matching band to match the ering. Hence the white gold, but I think rose gold would look beautiful (noot with my ring though)

I chose yg because I grew up seeing my parents and gparents wearing it. All of my jewelry growing up was yg. I’m also allergic to wg and rg. I love yg. It’s so warm and inviting…like the sun.

When we got engaged 15 years ago we went with yellow gold because I wore yellow gold. After having my original engagement ring stolen I upgraded to a white gold engagement ring and now wear white and rose gold as I feel that compliments my skin tone better.
First pic is my original wedding set and second pic is my new upgrade.

I chose rose gold. I don’t like white gold or other white metals because it’s what everyone has nowadays. I also think warm tones are more flattering on my skin. However I’m not a fan of yellow gold, because I think it looks a bit dated. So, rose gold it is!

I’ve always loved YG- not sure why. I like WG too for other jewelry. YG can definitely look dated but I think it looks classic if done correctly. My FI’s signet ring is YG and his wedding band will be the same. I am not a fan of rose gold because I don’t like the coppery tone but it looks great on others!

My husband bought my first wedding set (white gold) and presented it to me and I wore it happily for 13 years…no questions asked…..but in search for my upgrade I found the wedding bee! Fell in love with the classic look of yellow gold and will be going with YG for my upgrade. It compliments my skin:)

tasharoubion: my ring is white gold and I always wanted white gold probably because most of my everyday jewelry is WG or silver. Plus I think it looks best with my skintone and paired with the diamond it looks uniform.
