We both went to Texas A&M and are huge football fans. I wouldn’t say we have a theme, but our love of football shows in several elements (cake topper, engagement photos, etc).

Our primary color is Maroon, school color. Then I saw the following color scheme and knew I had something great:

Our venue has a Tuscan Italian feel to it.. with murals painted of Italian scenery.. It’s also named after “tulip” in Italian, so our theme of Italian elegance came really easily for me.  In terms of the theme colors, I chose rich plum & gold… plum after the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and golds because our venue is full of it!

My friend’s wedding had similar colors to yours and it was a beautiful wedding ๐Ÿ™‚

Blue has always been my favorite color, all shades, so I wanted to incorporate more than one shade. Aqua is his favorite, so we’re doing cobalt and turrquoise as our main colors, with red and yellow accents. We chose a carnival/circus theme pretty randomly but I’m glad we did because it’s been so much fun to plan.

I love fall and everything about it. So we picked late Sept for our wedding and just went with fall colors, mostly reds and oranges but some yellow and tan thrown in. I also love fall in the country so I wanted a romantic fall country rustic theme. Lots of lanterns, pumpkins and anything you might find laying around an old counrty barn in the Autumn.

I choose peacock long before I realized how popular it has become because I love the colours…that’s not going to change. Purple is my favourite colour as well as the other rich colours in the feathers and that is reflected through our home. Blue is FH’s favourite so the indigo is perfect for him.

As for our theme, that was picked by FH while he was looking for what he wanted to wear. He did not want to wear just a ‘regular’ tux so was leaning towards Irish kilts (but decided it would still look Scottish) until we came upon Steampunk Victorian. This theme fits perfectly with the dress I had already chosen and reflects our personalities very well. We met at the theatre on stage in The Christmas Carol (amateur actors), both love the arts (he has a fine arts degree) and we tend to be very creative.

My favorite colors are teal and purple and I love love LOVE the ocean, so we’re going for an ocean theme. NOT beach theme. Oy, it’s so hard to find stuff that doesn’t have seashells or sandy brown colors!

I originally wanted the wedding in an aquarium but they’re RIDICULOUSLY pricy!

@AlwaysSunny:  Ooooh I love it! And I normally prefer more intense, vivid greens (think Kelly green)

But it looks so ELEGANT with the black and white! Go for it girl! Tell everyone Chrysoberyl said so. ๐Ÿ˜€

@Styles:  I’m trying to avoid having too many colors… even though I love green too! I love teals, blues, greens, purples, etc. I’m trying to stick with just the teal and purple, even though “ocean” means I’ll probably end up with some blues as well.

All the cakes I find have sand and browns. UGH. I’m not a fan of brown!

We chose our theme of Scottish based on my husband’s ancestry and because he wanted to wear his kilt for the wedding. We then chose our colours of red and black with white accents by drawing the colour combination we thought looked best from his tartan (the plaid for kilts).
