As a non-makeup person, I used Avon’s minerals foundation and my mascara, eyeshadow and lip gloss were from Target – don’t recall the brands.  I’m naturally ruddy so blush wasn’t a necessity.  And I won’t use stuff like eyeliner, highlighter and all that crap.  very, very basic.

I used Sephora foundation, makeup geek shadows and blush, and no joke, Wet’nWild lipstick with a dollar store lip gloss. I did my own makeup and hair, practicing for weeks before the day and if I can say so myself, it turned out awesome!

tealboxwhiteribbon1 :  still working on this myself! So far….i have Too Face Born This Way Foundation, Too Face translucent powder (don’t remember the name), NARS concealer, Becca mineral blush, Becca highlighter, urban decay primer potion and eyeshadows, Anastasia Beverly Hills browstick, Bare Minerals liquid lipstick, Urban decay setting spray

Still working on finding a broNzer and contouring powder I like. Been buying and returning a lot from Sephora! i will only use cruelty free make up (so no Mac, makeup forever, etc.)

ilovesophia :  I have loved too faced milk chocolate bronzer and benefit hoola. I am very fair and they do a good job of giving me a glow and some contour.

I’m using Power Perfection BB Cream for my face.  I bought this in Korea when I lived there and have never found anything else that compares for me.  It matches my skin tone and provides coverage without feeling heavy.  I’ve been buying it ever since.  I only use it for special occassions and use a lighter coverage mineral powder for every day.  I don’t normally wear anything else so I’m a bit at a loss about what to do for the rest!

I was planning on doing my own hair and make-up.  Then, I decided on getting my hair done so I could have a more intricate style than I could manage myself.  As a result, I my time to do my own make-up between our religious morning ceremony and our Americanized wedding in the evening got significantly chopped.  I also really wanted falsies, and I just couldn’t get those on myself.  All in all I ended up just requesting for my make-up to be done too at the same salon with my hair.

Here is what I bought and now get to play with just for fun since I don’t need to save it anymore!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundations, Pores No More Primer, Urban Decay Eye Potion, MAC prowear/longwear? (something like that) concealer, Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow duo powder, Becca undereye highlight, Urban Decay lipstick in Rapture, Urban Decay Setting spray.  I also was planning on using my ISH contour pallete I got from a Fabfitfun box and my blinc tubing mascara.  As you can see, I was very excited to do my own make-up and was excited to have an excuse to try out quality product.  Now I’m bummed I bought the makeup AND am paying to get it done.  Several of the products come in travel sizes, which was a nice way to have quality at a slightly less expensive price.

cincybee110516 :  thanks for the recommendation! I know the benefit hooks gets rave reviews, but unfortunately benefit is not cruelty free. Though they claim not to test their products on animals, they sell in mainland China where animal testing is required by law.

I just purchased MAC waterproof prolong wear foundation and Satin Lipstick “Faux”, ABH Pink Champagne Eyeshadow, and Skindanvia Bridal Setting Spray & Primer.

Things that I’ll be using that’s already in my kit are ABH dip brow, and contour pallet. Laura Mercier loose setting powder and Benefit They’re Real mascara and eyeliner!

I’m so exited to use everything!

ilovesophia :  which brands are cruelty free that you’re comfortable using? I’ve tried almost every bronzer out there so maybe I can help!

cincybee110516 :  that’s so sweet! Tarte, urban decay, bare minerals, NARS, too faced, smashbox, Kat Von d, Josie Maran, Becca, Anastasia Beverly Hills, glossier….I’m sure I’ve missed some in that list, but that’s the majority of my current makeup at least.

ilovesophia :  out of that list, Nara Laguna and Too Faced Chocolate are hands down my favorite. Tarte and UB have always disappointed me when it comes to bronzes (UB’s concealer is my holy grail though!) I’ve always wanted to love Bare Minerals but it lets me down. Haven’t tried Smashbox or Kat Von D. Did you ever get the glossier products you ordered the other day?!

cincybee110516 :  I’m obsessed with Laura Mercier’s bronzed butter face and body veil. It’s almost sold out everywhere, but Macy’s has it online. And Laura is cruelty free.
