Stick with dresses designed for weddings

Brides should wear whatever they want

    I'm not sure

It depends on the dress (I've seen crazy things which I'll share)

I wore a bridesmaids dress. I think that a wedding dress is whatever dress you walk down the aisle in, simple.

Honestly, I almost didn’t get a “wedding dress”. I couldn’t find anything, and I wasn’t crazy about white. I would’ve gotten a royal blue dress if I hadn’t found my dress! I say wear what you want!

The intent to wear said outfit for the wedding.

Pamela Anderson I think got married in a bikini.  That’s a wedding bikini baby!

I’m cool with other people wearing whatever they want to wear. Colors/cut/length – it’s all good!

But for me, personally, I am really a traditionalist at heart. I need to be married in a white dress with a classic silhouette. Not even champagne, gold, blush, and not even a fit and flare or mermaid silhouette. I tried on dresses like that and they didn’t feel like wedding dresses to me! Other people can do as they please – and I love seeing all the different styles – but tradition is the only way for my big day. ๐Ÿ™‚

i agree, whatever you wear to get married in!

I actually went to a wedding show, and a girl was wearing this beautiful dress, that was white with black detailing on the skirt.

I stopped just to tell her how amazing her dress was, she told me she got it on clearance after prom, from a regular store in the mall.

I was just like, wow, nice find!

my girlfriend got married in a bridesmaid dress she just ordered in in ivory, she paid 1/4 of the price too, you would never know it was not a wedding gown!

My mom wore a grey suit for her wedding to my dad around 50 years ago, and it looked like something someone would wear to work as a receptionist in an office!

My mother’s second marriage to my step dad, (1986) she wore a more “appropriate wedding worthy” wedding suit… really fancy white top with bling and matching skirt. She also wore a white birdcage veil!

@Regina Phalange:  I am going to wear my burgundy dress for the next few years including formal night on our cruise. Not interested in paying for something to only wear once. I realize that I am the exception though.

@happyface: My grandma got married in something that sounds like that too! And she looked gorgeous in it. (the receptionist one)
