Here is the back of my dress. I made a capelet and bridal cap to give it that 30’s flare I was going for.

I was going through my parents wedding album today and had this really cool idea to recreate my moms dress. to still doing a long flowy chiffon dress but redoing the top a bit. so scratch my last post. this was my moms dress from the 70s ill be recreating (with some changes of course) loosing the sleeves and collar she had to make mine strapless and adding some off the shoulder loose straps.

I know this isn’t the newest thread anymore, but …

Mine is jacquard (brocade?), which I haven’t seen much of.  Hopefully I’ll have pictures of me in it soon!  I love it!

…but without the flower thing on the waist

@minniemluv:  omgosh – I losh it – its so unique 🙂 I saw a crushed velvet one in red similar to yours on a pinterest pin a long time ago (and will never find it again) and it insprired me to do my sash a different color then just white or ivory. So I have made mine bright yellow! 🙂

I do love yours so much! Its so gorgeous!

@bkrocks13:  Awesome!!! I seriously love this. I am a bit of an addict when it comes to wedding gowns. I developed a passion for them long before any thoughts of my own wedding. This will definitely stand out in the “sea of normal.” I mean that in a very good way!

Mine was dark red with silver applique, but the shape was pretty standard strapless A-line!
