Thank you! Once I start alterations, I will for sure put up tons of pictures! I’m going to be doing a bridal session in the dress as is, for my grandmother’s sake (because she won’t be able to travel to my wedding), and then as well once it’s altered. I’m very excited to see where the dress goes, I know I want to keep it as close to the original as possible, because I love it as is.
Also I love both your dresses- the lace in yours Chacha is amazing, i’ve never seen anything like that!
And Minnieluv- I actually contacted Stephanie James Coture to price out the Josephine but with a pink bow for a reception dress, but it’s just too expensive for me to justify. I love the bow detail so much.

@cirk: it’s not actually the Josephine. It’s Nadine, with a Josephine bow ( a lot less expensive )

@minniemluv: OHH! that’s super cool, I didnt know she would do the bow on other dresses!

@cirk: I think it has to be a dress that has a lacy pattern for it to work, but she was the one who suggested it in our initial emails when I said I was on a budget. She has been fantastic to work with

@cirk: I love dress threads too. All of these unique gowns are so gorgeous, I’ve loved ogling them all!
Here’s mine. It’s all sequins <3 Also it has a low back. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I love it 🙂

@minniemluv: I love the bow!! 🙂

It’s not mostly white, and there’s a steel boned corset.

It’s unique because it’s not so unique. I hate the way I look in so many trendy things. It has straps, rouching and a simple skirt.
Plus, I can’t find it ANYWHERE online, and it was the store dress, so I don’t think it exists anywhere else lol. Thus making it unique.

@MeiFrancis: I just love your gown! I wore the pronovias pergola. But I think I would have worn yours in a heartbeat if I had it available to try one.

My gown hasn’t been made yet. Construction will start after Christmas this year, however it will be very unique!
I’ve found an uncut vintage pattern from the 80’s. The sleeves are going to be scaled down a bit so it’s more modern, but it still will have the opulent style of the decade with lots of special touches like a queen anne style neckline. And I’m on a quest for some really unique lace to make it my own.

@MeiFrancis: Oh my! Your dress is so whimsical and romantic! LOVE IT!
Your dress is so fun! I love the petticoat!!
What makes mine unique is the roushing (sp?) on the top to the flowly bottom. And the single strap for sure. I’ve only seen a handful of other Bees with a single strap.

The bottom of mine has very atypical ruffles. I’d post a picture but I’m ony phone.

@cirk: Oh, how fantastic! I love the idea of using a vintage wedding gown, particularly of someone close to you. Loving sleeves, too. 🙂
Is your dress silver? I have been admiring the pictures of the back and thre straps. I have really liked satin with lacy bits lately.
Ugh, can I just have your dress? Seriously it is so dreamy! Also you look great in it.
Simple and sweet! What is your wedding going to be like? Just curious. 🙂
For a long time Sleeping Beauty was my favorite Disney Princess… (then I met Belle), and the way your top dips in the waist reminds me of that, and I love it. 🙂 Congrats on the great find.
Your dress is sweet & romantic, and seems slightly 1950s, which I love.
I think you posted about nontraditional dresses not too long ago. It is so nice to see you in yours. It fits you very well. I know low cut can be tricky, but you’re really working it.
I still love the simplicity of your dress. It is so different than what I normally see here. Also love your username. 🙂 Gryffindor Quidditch.
Eee! I love your something blue ribbon.
I’ve only see one other dress like this… I think it was at DB or Alfred Angelo. Very cool concept.
So freaking cute. It suits you so much. The ribbon is sewn in (I read your original dress post) and it seems so artistic to me.
Sequins & low back. I remember falling in love with your dress through your wedding recaps. Sigh.

@Cummins59: I love your flowery strap, and the ruffles on the bottom!
