Engagement Ring is platinum, wedding band is 18k white gold. Both are family heirlooms so I didn’t really choose the metals, but I love em!

@Sapphire-Dreamer:  Haha no I don’t think so! I just meant when I wear them together, they aren’t really together, since they are on different hands. Although I did see somewhere on the Bee that someone said if they were different karats, one would wear on the other… But I have no idea if that is true or not lol.

Platinum- I was okay with white gold but the jeweler convinced my Fiance that with the pave diamonds I need something stronger, and that getting white gold re-coated will get annoying over time.

@carrotcake2003:  18kt palladium white gold. It was the best of all possible worlds for us, shiny bright white color that won’t patina over time, but not rhodium-plated so it never needs to be re-dipped, and also hypoallergenic because it contains no nickel. They are still 18kt however, so they’re super soft and I do have to be careful not to ding them.

As a child I was allergic to jewellery with nickel. I don’t have that problem anymore but I’m worried I may develop the allergy again as I age so I went with platinum. I also don’t like the look of white gold when it needs re dipping and would prefer a naturally white metal, not a plated metal.

i have a white gold promise ring that turns yellow so quickly so i specifically asked for platinum from Fiance when he was picking out my ring.

i have a platinum ering, and my wedding band for now is tungsten. i’m hoping to get a platinum eternity band some day to sparkle up my set 🙂
