I used to ONLY use white metal.  I told my mom for years that I wouldn’t wear yellow because it looked to “old.”  However, I am allergic to white gold and sometimes silver with the wrong alloys, so much that I have to paint all my pant buttons with clear nailpolish!  Now I have a jewelry box with some beautiful earrings and rings that I can no longer wear, but a growing collection and appreciation of gorgeous yellow gold!

    Here’s my 14 K e-ring and 18 K wedding band:

14k white gold…I really wanted platinum…but the jeweler talked my bf out of it 🙁 ugh. he did promise me free “re-dipping” for life though.

My wedding set – e-ring, eternity band and plain band are all platinum.  I also have a plain tungston band for work because I am a nurse and the hand sanitizer ruined all the metals I tried before!

My set is yellow gold but I chose mixed metals because my e-ring is 14k yellow gold and my band is 10k yellow. I thought I was one of those who prefered white metals. Then I tried on a yellow gold ring my husband (then boyfriend) picked out when we were ring shopping and it was all over. Now I think white gold looks strange on me Wink

I have mixed…ering is a 14k white gold band with a Platinum setting!  I’m sure there is logic to that haha Kind of surprised no one else has a combo that’s similar!

My engagement ring is 18K white gold because Fiance figured since it cost a little more that was the way to go 😛 But it seems sturdy so far! And I don’t know if I’ll ever bother with getting it redipped or not.

I want an eternity band to go with it, and since Fiance wants a white and yellow gold wedding band for himself, I’ve decided to get it in yellow gold. Haven’t decided on 14 or 18K though. Hmm…

14K Yellow Gold – Fiance wanted a yellow gold band, I wanted platinum or white gold, but I found this (not an engagement ring, two rows of diamonds) and went for it…now I really love them both!!!!!
