We picked July because I wanted to guarantee we would get warm weather (for our evening wedding). Our weather in SoCal has been finicky and we were getting drizzle and clouds in June, which I wanted to avoid. August is DH’s birthday month, and he didn’t want to share. LOL

May, because fiance is in the Army and they make it difficult to do anything. So we chose memorial day weekend aka 4 day weekend!

Well, my wedding was on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, and it was a semi-destination wedding (at least an hour and a half from most guests, three hours from a number of other guests, and about four hours from the next big group of guests. We also had other family and friends drive or fly in from other regions of the country to celebrate our big day with us. We didn’t even send STDs — didn’t want to have to deal with cutting our guest list down that far in advance, and we had great atttendance, so you should be fine! 🙂

We chose Dec 1 so that it’ll be cooler (finally) and not too close to Christmas. I know in other states December is cold, but it’s really not here LOL Most memories of Thanksgiving include sweating outside and going inside to turn down the AC. So, we wanted a cooler month and before Christmas. February is too hectic/busy in my family, January is kind of relaxation month after all the holidays and so, Dec 1 it is!

I am terrible at being hot (aka whiny and my hair frizzes) so that nixed the summer, I also am not good at being cold, haha. March it was! We had narrowed it to March or April, with the first weekend of May being the very latest. Also, DH’s favorite number is 3. Our anniversary = 3.3.12

I always wanted a Winter wedding and nothing says Winter like December. I originally wanted a date further away from Christmas but it turned out to be $3,000 cheaper to do it on the 20th rather than the 7th which where the only two weekend December days my venue had left for that year.

@bunnyharriet: July 6th is our anniversary 🙂

I chose June because we have a lot of people with children who will have school, so we wanted to make it so that the kiddos didn’t have to miss any school. Plus we’ll be graduating college in May.

Our date is such an unromantic scheduling thing….Fiance can’t get time off work from May-November, so those months are out. We are planning a Destination Wedding and I am not willing to risk hurricane season, so April is out. A lot of our friends, and in particular one of my bridesmaids are in grad school. I wanted to pick a time when school would be out, such as reading week or during xmas break, but those weeks were double to cost, so in doing damage control I picked the first week of classes, as usually those classes are jsut spent going over the curriculum anyways…

- Wedding: February 2013 - Mansion House at the MD Zoo
We chose February because we (mostly I) hate winter and wanted to have something awesome and joyous and fun to look forward to each year. We’re not big on Valentime’s day so it’s a big long stretch of nothing fun from New Years to Easter/Passover. We didn’t want close to Valentine’s day as we are not having a V-day wedding, so it was a toss up between Feb 23rd or March 2nd. The venue had this date avalable so the 23rd it is. Bonus for nerdy FI–02.23.13 is all prime numbers. He’s so weird. 🙂

at the moment we are looking at July 🙂 mainly because that is the time of having four weeks off between university semesters, so my Fiance won’t have to worry about exams, the days are usually clear and not too hot, and chances are better of getting our venue, as well as it maybe being cheaper as it is off peak wedding season. and if we do go to Hawaii for our honeymoon it will be Summer there, so nice and warm 🙂

prime numbers haha.
June took the early lead but October is most popular. It looks like weather has a lot to do with when people want to get married. I’d have chosen late September if our anniversary wasn’t July 4.
